Evaluation of a Product Intended for Microbiological Control in Animal Production, and Its Combination With Halquinol

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 302-313, August 2026.
Activo Liquid and Halquinol inhibit Salmonella and Escherichia coli in culture media. Activo Liquid exhibits bactericidal action, whereas HA is bacteriostatic, and their combination results in positive or indifferent interactions. This combination effectively inhibits E. coli throughout digestion simulation, thus reducing the required concentrations of

Lippia umbellata Cav.: Chemical Composition, Insecticidal, and Antimicrobial Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.
Hexane extracts of Lippia umbellata leaves and flowers contain lupenone, α‐amyrin, and hentriacontane. They exhibit insecticidal activity against Drosophila melanogaster and inhibit AChE in vitro and in silico. Furthermore, the extracts can inhibit the growth of medically important bacteria and yeasts, including multidrug‐resistant strains.

Dietary Terpenoids in Advancing Biofilm‐Mediated Cancer Prevention: Antibiofilm Cascade, Molecular Crosstalk, and Nano‐Facilitated Functional Delivery

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The role of microbes in cancer is gaining attention these days, especially in the context of tumor‐associated biofilms and dysbiotic microbiota. Biofilm‐producing microorganisms, such as Fusobacterium nucleatum and Helicobacter pylori, trigger oncogenic inflammation and immune evasion in tumor initiation and progression, and in the development

Metabolite Variations in Lepidium sativum Seeds Among Different Germplasms: Unraveling the Link Between Environment and Chemical Compounds

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Comparative phytochemical analysis of Lepidium sativum seed populations revealed environmentally driven variation in essential oil composition, while fatty acid profiles remained largely stable across populations. Benzyl nitrile was the dominant essential oil constituent, α‐linolenic acid was the major fatty acid, and all populations exhibited weak ...

Enhancing Ground Beef Shelf Life Using Psidium guajava Leaf and Oliveria decumbens Essential Oils: Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, and Quality Preservation Effects Under Refrigeration

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Guava leaf essential oil (GL‐EO) and Oliveria decumbens essential oil (Od‐EO) improved the microbial and oxidative stability of refrigerated ground beef and helped extend its shelf life. GL‐EO better preserved odor and color, while the combined GL‐EO + Od‐EO treatment provided the best texture preservation and highest overall acceptability.

Anticarcinogenic and antiplatelet effects of carvacrol.

open access: yesExperimental oncology, 2006
To investigate the effect of carvacrol on chemical carcinogenesis, cancer cell proliferation and platelet aggregation, and to find possible correlation between all these processes and the antioxidant properties of carvacrol.3,4-benzopyrene-induced carcinogenesis model using Wistar rats was used.

Harvest Stage‐Dependent Variation in Essential Oil Chemotype and Agronomic Yield of Parsley (Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Fuss)

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) was harvested at four ontogenetic stages (Pet‐1 to Pet‐4; May–September) under Mediterranean field conditions. Harvest timing significantly affected both agronomic yield and essential oil (EO) composition. Biomass yield peaked at Pet‐4 (10,076 kg da−1); EO content was highest at Pet‐2 (0.70%). GC–MS identified 55 volatile

Chemical composition and fumigant effect of essentialoil of Lippia sidoides Cham. and monoterpenes against Tenebrio molitor (L.) (coleoptera: tenebrionidae) Composição química e efeito fumigante do óleo essencial de Lippia sidoides Cham. e monoterpenos sobre Tenebrio molitor (L.) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)

open access: yesCiência e Agrotecnologia, 2011
The chemical composition of Lippia sidoides essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation was characterized and quantified by GC/MS and their insecticidal activity by fumigation test was assayed against Tenebrio molitor.
