VS-Cascade Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1994
Abstract A variable structure cascade control is presented in order to avoid the increasing loss in the bandwidth of the outer loops, typical drawback of classical cascade control. In the choice of the coefficient of the VS-controller the compatibility of the command signals with the physics of the controlled plants is also guaranteed. As a test case

Cascade PID controller for quadrotor

2016 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2016
Aiming at the attitude stabilization and angle tracking control of quadrotor aircraft, an optimized cascade double-loop PI-PID controller is proposed. It is based on strong coupling and nonlinear dynamic model in this paper. A PI controller acts as an outer loop controller, which controls primary physical parameter, namely the attitude.

Control theory of regulatory cascades

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1991
We have extended Metabolic Control Theory to include cascades consisting of several modules controlling each other solely via regulatory effects. We derive several theorems that determine how the control properties of a cascade derive from (1) the control properties of each module, taken in isolation and (2) the regulatory interactions between the ...

Cascaded predictive speed control

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
This work proposes a new control scheme for electrical drives system, named cascaded predictive speed control (PSC). The strategy seeks to maintain the simplicity of the classic predictive control while excluding linear or other controllers. The control strategy has a cascade architecture, similar to the techniques of classical control (FOC or DTC ...

Improved Cascade Control Structure and Controller Design

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
In conventional single feedback control, the corrective action for disturbances does not begin until the controlled variable deviates from the set point. In this case, a cascade control strategy can be used to improve the performance of a control system particularly in the presence of disturbances.

Cascade controller design using controller synthesis

2015 19th International Conference on System Theory, Control and Computing (ICSTCC), 2015
In the case of existence of disturbances in a classical single input single output feedback control system, the controller can take action after the disturbance makes the controlled variable move away from the desired value. On the other hand, a cascade control scheme will take an immediate corrective action by using an inner loop controller.

A cascade structure for robust control design

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1994
In the context of robust control theory and applications, the well-known variable structure approach and the so-called binary control approach offer both interesting properties and disadvantages. In this paper, the idea of combining the two techniques in order to define a cascade structure exploiting the desirable features of both approaches is ...
