On some approaches to the autotuning of cascade controls

2008 IEEE International Conference on Computer-Aided Control Systems, 2008
Some approaches to the autotuning of cascade controls are comparatively analysed, based on a conveniently characterised test batch. The reported analysis results is some remarks and possible guidelines for the design of cascade autotuners. It is worth noting that the presented simulation study considers the ldquoidentification experimentrdquo as part ...

Cascade Control of Ammonia Assimilation

1993
In cellular physiology, metabolism is organized at several levels: the level of intermediary metabolism, the level of protein metabolism (synthesis, modification and degradation), and the level of mRNA metabolism (transcription and decay). At the level of protein metabolism we study cascades of enzymes modifying one another covalently.

Control of Cascaded Multilevel Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2003
A new type of multilevel inverter is introduced which is created by cascading two three-phase three-level inverters using the load connection, but requires only one dc voltage source. This new inverter can operate as a seven-level inverter and naturally splits the power conversion into a higher-voltage lower-frequency inverter and a lower-voltage ...

Cascaded voltage control

2021
Controlling higher-order power converter topologies requires decoupling system states into isolated, sequential loops to prevent control interaction and guarantee stability. This technical note details the design, digital implementation, and tuning of a cascaded voltage control strategy applied to the DC bus of a step-up boost converter.

Control Mechanisms of the Prophenoloxidase Cascade

2001
Insects do not possess innnunoglobulins and other complicated immune proteins found in higher animals. However, they are equipped with a highly effective defense arsenal to protect themselves from invading parasites and other intruders. The hard armor like exoskeleton of insects affords the first line of defense by providing a physical barrier against ...

Cascade control system and control strategies

2017 International Conference on Computing Methodologies and Communication (ICCMC), 2017
Control systems like plants of manufacturing, power plants, automobiles, aircrafts and robot manipulator needs a network to exchange information within itself. A network having a closed loop feedback is the choice which is known as cascade control system.

Opioid control of MAP kinase cascade

European Journal of Pharmacology, 2004
Activation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) may result in phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 (ERK 1/2). The signaling pathway involves ectodomain shedding, generating epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like ligands, which in turn stimulate the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) via EGF receptors.

Cascade Control System

2011
It is well known that the conventional unity feedback control system can only give a corrective action to load disturbance after the system output has deviated from the set-point, i.e., output error entails feedback control. © Springer-Verlag London Limited 2012.

Cascade control of hydraulically actuated manipulators

Robotica, 1990
SUMMARYA fundamental study on the control of hydraulically actuated robots is presented. Dynamic modelling is performed in both time-domain and frequency-domain. It is shown that the inclusion of hydraulic elements increases the order of the system. Hydraulic compliance is the most effective factor in this regard.Three distinct control strategies are ...

Auto-tuning of cascade control systems

ISA Transactions, 2003
In this paper, a novel auto-tuning method for a cascade control system is proposed. By employing a simple relay feedback test, both inner and outer loop model parameters can be simultaneously identified. Consequently, well-established proportional-integral-derivative (PID) tuning rules can be applied to tune both loops.
