Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Cascade structures of fault-tolerant control schemes with the static and dynamic output controllers

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2017
An enhanced approach to fault-tolerant control design is proposed in the paper for linear systems subject to cascade control strategy, while static and dynamic output controllers are employed to maintain the stability of the overall interconnected control structure.

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Research on the Influence of Jet Control Point Distribution on Gas‒liquid Separation Characteristics in a Helical Axial-flow Multiphase Pump [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Helical axial-flow multiphase (HAFM) pumps experience intermittent gas-blocking events, which negatively impact performance and threaten the stability of the overall pump and pipeline systems.

dynoGP: Deep Gaussian Processes for Dynamic System Identification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel class of deep models for system identification, dynamical deep Gaussian processes, which combine the strengths of data‐driven methods, such as those based on neural network architectures, with the ability to output a probability distribution for uncertainty representation.

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Optimal control computation for cascade systems by structured Jacobi iterations

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2019
Abstract A computational method is proposed for solving a structured finite-horizon optimal control problem. Specifically, a linear quadratic problem with discrete-time dynamics arising from a cascaded interconnection of N heterogeneous sub-systems is considered.
