Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Chemoenzymatic Cascade Reaction for Green Cleaning of Polyamide Nanofiltration Membrane
Chemical cleaning is indispensable for the sustainable operation of nanofiltration (NF) in wastewater treatment. However, the common chemical cleaning methods are plagued by low cleaning efficiency, high chemical consumption, and separation performance ...

Enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis is a gut bacterium linked to bowel cancer. We propose that its toxin acts along two routes: at the cell surface, cutting the adhesion protein E‐cadherin and triggering inflammation; and inside the cell, delivered by bacterial vesicles, switching on NOD1 and cancer stem cell programs.

Whole-cell one-pot biosynthesis of dodecanedioic acid from renewable linoleic acid
Background Dodecanedioic acid (DDA), a typical medium-chain dicarboxylic fatty acid with widespread applications, has a great synthetic value and a huge industrial market demand. Currently, a sustainable, eco-friendly and efficient process is desired for

Lipoxygenases and plant cell metabolism regulation [PDF]
Lipoxygenases are widespread plant enzymes that catalyze the peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids. This reaction is pivotal in the enzymatic cascade that leads to production of numerous metabolism regulators named oxylipins.

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.
