Materials Design and Assessment of Redox‐Mediated Flow Cell Systems for Enhanced Energy Storage and Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Redox‐mediated flow cells, which operate on an electrochemical‐chemical cycle, shift desired reactions from electrode compartments to dedicated reactors and enable diversified applications for high‐density flow batteries, fuel cells, CO2 capture, electrosynthesis, waste recycling, etc.

[Case crossover studies: a conceptual and methodological approach].

open access: yesGaceta medica de Mexico, 2010
Case crossover studies are considered as a variant of case control studies, and they have been included in the scientific literature since approximately eighteen years ago. They have also been used in epidemiological research on acute or intermittent exposures that may lead to a number of events including heart attack or cardiac arrest, injuries ...

Proton Selective Nanoporous Atomically Thin Graphene Membranes for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable high‐performance proton‐exchange‐membrane architecture is demonstrated that integrates monolayer CVD graphene with Ar plasma‐engineered Angstrom‐scale proton‐selective pores, stacked to mitigate non‐selective defects, and interfaced with an ultrathin (≈300 nm) polybenzimidazole layer sandwiched between two Nafion 211 sheets.

The effects of ambient temperature on road traffic injuries in Jinan city: a time-stratified case-crossover study based on distributed lag nonlinear model

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
ObjectivesThe impact of climate change, especially extreme temperatures, on health outcomes has become a global public health concern. Most previous studies focused on the impact of disease incidence or mortality, whereas much less has been done on road ...

Reconfigurable Magnetotransport in MnBi2Te4 via Gate and Magnetic Field Tuning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Gate‐tunable magnetoresistance sign reversal under in‐plane magnetic fields is observed in an ultrathin MnBi2Te4 device, arising from spin reorientation and distinct scattering mechanisms. Moreover, angular‐dependent measurements reveal clear gate‐controlled magnetotransport anisotropy, underscoring the strong coupling between gating, spin ...

Association between ambient air pollution and cardiovascular disease mortality: An individual-level case-crossover study in Hefei, China

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Background: Short-term exposure to air pollution is strongly associated to cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality; however, detailed studies in rapidly urbanizing areas remain limited.

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Thermally Drawn Multifunctional All‐Hydrogel Fibers for Anti‐Fibrotic and Multimodal Neural Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrogels demonstrate material properties that mimic the mechanical and chemical environments of biological tissues. Yet, they face challenges during their integration into 3D interfaces. By identifying a class of thermoplastic hydrogels, a strategy is developed to pattern hydrogels in thermally drawn fibers.
