Analyse of an experiment of divergent selection for fleece weight in french angora rabbits [PDF]
Dans cette thèse nous présentons une analyse d'une expérience de sélection divergente chez le lapin Angora français. Les objectifs de l'expérience étaient d'évaluer la réponse à la sélection pour le poids total de toison et pour les caractères corrélés ...

Prediction of carcass weight using the morphometry of ankle bones in hair goats
The study investigated the relationship between age, sex and carcass weight in hair goats through morphometric measurements of the talus and calcaneus bones. Significant correlations were found between bone measurements (GLc and GLt) and carcass weight, with regression models predicting carcass weight with 85% accuracy.

The prolactin receptor has many conserved features across species, and these are all subject to a complex regulation at the level of gene transcription. This figure depicts the structure of different isoforms of the prolactin receptor in representative human, rodent, ungulate, avian, and reptile species.

Circular RNAs (CircRNAs) are a type of non-coding RNAs, which contain a covalently closed loop structure without 5′ to 3′ free ends. CircRNAs play essential roles in the regeneration of secondary hair follicle (SHF) and cashmere growth in goats.

Tibetan cashmere goats are famous for producing the finest, softest and lightest cashmere fiber in China. The growth and development of skin are closely related to fineness and are the key factors affecting the quality of cashmere. To investigate the specific role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) in regulating cashmere ...

Abstract As an invaluable Chinese sheep germplasm resource, Hu sheep are renowned for their high fertility and beautiful wavy lambskins. Their distinctive characteristics have evolved over time through a combination of artificial and natural selection. Identifying selection signatures in Hu sheep can provide a straightforward insight into the mechanism

Chromosome-level genome assembly of the cashmere goat
The goat, an early domesticated ruminant, is a reliable source of cashmere, meat and milk in global agricultural production. Despite this, the genome of cashmere-rich goats has yet to be characterized. Here, we assembled the nearly complete genome of a cashmere goat from a highly economically valuable Inner Mongolian Cashmere buck, utilizing a ...
