Analyse of an experiment of divergent selection for fleece weight in french angora rabbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Dans cette thèse nous présentons une analyse d'une expérience de sélection divergente chez le lapin Angora français. Les objectifs de l'expérience étaient d'évaluer la réponse à la sélection pour le poids total de toison et pour les caractères corrélés ...

Prediction of carcass weight using the morphometry of ankle bones in hair goats

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 10, Issue 4, July 2024.
The study investigated the relationship between age, sex and carcass weight in hair goats through morphometric measurements of the talus and calcaneus bones. Significant correlations were found between bone measurements (GLc and GLt) and carcass weight, with regression models predicting carcass weight with 85% accuracy.

The prolactin receptor: A cross‐species comparison of gene structure, transcriptional regulation, tissue‐specificity, and genetic variation

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 36, Issue 7, July 2024.
The prolactin receptor has many conserved features across species, and these are all subject to a complex regulation at the level of gene transcription. This figure depicts the structure of different isoforms of the prolactin receptor in representative human, rodent, ungulate, avian, and reptile species.

The results of selection and breeding activities for white goats of Zalaajinst-Edren breed

open access: yesProceedings of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 2018
The population of white goats created by continues research and sound selection under the Gobi ecological and climatic conditions was recognized as a distinct cashmere breed of Zalaajinst-Edren white goats in 2015 by a decree # A/59, of the Minister of ...

CircRNA-1926 Promotes the Differentiation of Goat SHF Stem Cells into Hair Follicle Lineage by miR-148a/b-3p/CDK19 Axis

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Circular RNAs (CircRNAs) are a type of non-coding RNAs, which contain a covalently closed loop structure without 5′ to 3′ free ends. CircRNAs play essential roles in the regeneration of secondary hair follicle (SHF) and cashmere growth in goats.

Integrated analysis of lncRNA and mRNA reveals novel insights into cashmere fineness in Tibetan cashmere goats

open access: yesPeerJ, 2020
Tibetan cashmere goats are famous for producing the finest, softest and lightest cashmere fiber in China. The growth and development of skin are closely related to fineness and are the key factors affecting the quality of cashmere. To investigate the specific role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) in regulating cashmere ...

Analysis of 206 whole‐genome resequencing reveals selection signatures associated with breed‐specific traits in Hu sheep

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract As an invaluable Chinese sheep germplasm resource, Hu sheep are renowned for their high fertility and beautiful wavy lambskins. Their distinctive characteristics have evolved over time through a combination of artificial and natural selection. Identifying selection signatures in Hu sheep can provide a straightforward insight into the mechanism

Chromosome-level genome assembly of the cashmere goat

open access: yesScientific Data
The goat, an early domesticated ruminant, is a reliable source of cashmere, meat and milk in global agricultural production. Despite this, the genome of cashmere-rich goats has yet to be characterized. Here, we assembled the nearly complete genome of a cashmere goat from a highly economically valuable Inner Mongolian Cashmere buck, utilizing a ...

Knockdown of miR-361-5p promotes the induced activation of SHF-stem cells through FOXM1 mediated Wnt/β-catenin pathway in cashmere goats

open access: yesAnimal Biotechnology
The inducing activation event of secondary hair follicle (SHF)-stem cells is considered a key biological process in the SHF regeneration, and the morphogenesis of cashmere fiber in cashmere goats.

A heterogeneous-agent model with district-level constraints: an application to livestock development in Gansu, China [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a heterogeneous-agent model to assess the impacts of removing lucerne growing subsidies, increasing livestock numbers and including district-level equilibrium conditions on optimal farm plans in the Qingyang district of Gansu Province,
