The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

A CASE OF ECLAMPSIA, WITH ALBUMINURIA; TREATMENT. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Mrs. H., aet. 35, multipara, was taken with convulsions at end of eighth month of pregnancy. At 4 o'clock in the morning of September 28 her husband was aroused from sleep by the convulsive action and labored breathing of his wife. I was called immediately and found patient in a comatose state; face and hands and, in fact, the whole body ...

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Stall Margin Improvement by Casing Treatment—Its Mechanism and Effectiveness
Experiments on the effect of casing treatment were carried out using low-speed axial-flow compressors. Results on the overall compressor performance and on the flow through the blade row as well as the flow within the treatment slots are presented. Then,

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Flow Stability Model for Fan/Compressors with Annular Duct and Novel Casing Treatment
A three-dimensional compressible flow stability model is presented in this paper, which focuses on stall inception of multi-stage axial flow compressors with a finite large radius annular duct configuration for the first time. It is shown that under some

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Suppression of Performance Curve Instability of an Axial-Flow Pump by Using a Double-Inlet-Nozzle
It has been shown that the sudden decrease of pump head in an axial flow pump caused by stall can be overcome by means of casing treatment. Flat axial grooves in front of the impeller break the swirl of the near-casing backflow.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
