Origins of Precipitation in the World's Water Towers

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract High‐mountain systems act as the planet's vital water towers, sustaining freshwater supplies for billions of people. Climate change is exacerbating hydrological imbalances in these regions, yet the moisture sources maintaining their precipitation—the primary water input—remain poorly quantified.

A Practical Real‐Time Observer‐Based Radiation Prediction Algorithm for Solar Plants

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 887-904, February 2026.
A novel radiation prediction method is proposed. The model's existence is verified by applying real data to an offline identifier. An adaptive state/parameter estimator is developed to identify the model. The identification process occurs in real‐time, independent of specific situations. The method offers universal radiation prediction.

Linking geopolitical risk, load capacity factor, income, labor, population, and trade on natural resources: Evidence from top oil‐producing countries

open access: yesNatural Resources Forum, Volume 50, Issue 1, Page 139-156, February 2026.
Abstract The global economy has been witnessing increasing geopolitical risk (GPR) in recent years. The rise in GPR has several consequences, and the impact of this situation on natural resource rent (NR) has not yet been analyzed for the major oil‐producing countries. Given this deficiency, this study analyzes the impact of GPR, gross domestic product,
