Epidemiological assessment of cassava mosaic disease in Burkina Faso [PDF]
Abstract Surveys were conducted in 2016 and 2017 across the main cassava‐growing regions of Burkina Faso to assess the status of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) and to determine the virus strains causing the disease, using field observation and phylogenetic analysis. CMD incidence varied between regions and across years but was lowest in

Cassava mosaic disease and its management in Southeast Asia [PDF]
Abstract Key message Status of the current outbreak of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) in Southeast Asia was reviewed. Healthy cassava seed production and dissemination systems have been established in Vietnam and Cambodia, along with integrated disease and pest management systems, to combat the outbreak.

SEGS-1 episomes generated during cassava mosaic disease enhance disease severity [PDF]
Cassava is an important root crop that is produced by smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa. Cassava mosaic disease (CMD), which is caused by a group of cassava mosaic begomoviruses (CMBs), is one of the most devastating diseases of cassava.

Cassava mosaic disease in South and Southeast Asia: current status and prospects [PDF]
Cassava is one of the most important food and industrial crops in Asia, Africa, and South America. Cassava mosaic disease (CMD), caused by cassava mosaic geminivirus, is one of the major constraints to cassava cultivation.

Cassava mosaic geminiviruses associated with cassava mosaic disease in Rwanda
Cassava mosaic disease (CMD), and cassava mosaic geminiviruses (CMGs), were investigated in a country-wide survey conducted in six cassava-producing prefectures (administrative regions) of Rwanda in 2001. CMD occurred throughout the country at an average incidence of 30%. Incidence was highest in Kigali (44%) and lowest in Butare (11%).

SummaryThe cassava mosaic geminiviruses (CMGs) isolated from cassava plants expressing mild and severe symptoms of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) in 2002 in Uganda were investigated using the polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR‐RFLP) molecular techniques and DNA sequencing.

First Report of Cassava Mosaic Disease and Sri Lankan Cassava Mosaic Virus in Laos [PDF]
Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) has been traditionally grown as a subsistence crop in Laos, but in recent years cassava cultivation in this country has expanded and is becoming a 'cash crop' for farmers (Malik et al., 2020). This also means that cassava vegetative seed (stakes) is rapidly multiplied and distributed.

Cassava begomovirus species diversity changes during plant vegetative cycles
Cassava is a root crop important for global food security and the third biggest source of calories on the African continent. Cassava production is threatened by Cassava mosaic disease (CMD), which is caused by a complex of single-stranded DNA viruses ...
