Cu and combined Cu–P microalloying refine the microstructure and enhance the nanoindentation‐derived fracture resistance of CoNiAlSi ferromagnetic shape memory alloys without suppressing the martensitic transformation. Comparative SEM, DSC, and nanoindentation results reveal that the CuP‐containing alloy provides the most balanced response, achieving ...

Consistently Fitting Orthopaedic Casts
Personalized orthopaedic casts largely improve the comfortability and functionality for patients compared to classical plaster casts. Current attempts on the geometric modelling of customized casts have not taken the swelling of the patients' broken ...

Effects of earthworm casts on crop production
Greenhouse and field studies were conducted to determine the effect of earthworm casts on the production of maize and cowpea. In pot experiments with mixtures of soil and casts, shoot and root dry matter (OM) of maize and cowpea increased with increasing

Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.

To enhance through‐thickness conductivity without sacrificing impregnation, large spherical graphite particles are intentionally employed in a low‐viscosity resin. Unlike finer conductive fillers, these particles remain outside the fiber bundles and accumulate in resin‐rich interlaminar regions during molding.

Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
