Mao and colleagues uncover a STAT2/IRF9‐dependent signaling axis through which tubular epithelial cell (TEC)‐derived IFN‐α induces gasdermin D (GSDMD)‐mediated pyroptosis in macrophages. This TEC‐macrophage feedback loop amplifies renal inflammation and fibrosis, providing mechanistic insight into the progression of chronic kidney disease and revealing

Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

ERM Inhibition Confers Ferroptosis Resistance through ROS‐Induced NRF2 Signaling
ERM inhibition disrupts ERM‐actin interactions, elevating ROS and triggering KEAP1 degradation, which stabilizes and activates NRF2. Nuclear NRF2 induces cytoprotective genes, notably HMOX1, enhancing redox buffering and suppressing lipid peroxidation to resist erastin‐induced ferroptosis.

Detection of Bartonella henselae in domestic cats’ saliva
Background and Objectives: Bartonella species are being recognized as increasingly important bacterial pathogens in veterinary and human medicine. These organisms can be transmitted by an arthropod vector or alternatively by animal scratches or bites ...

Mutant p53 drives oncogenic splicing to promote the progression of ovarian cancer by partnering with the spliceosome factor SNRPD2. Therefore, it is engineered iRGD‐exosomes to co‐deliver siRNAs against both targets. This approach restored tumor‐suppressive mRNA isoforms, effectively enhanced sensitivity to cisplatin, and ultimately blocked tumor ...

Spectrum of Optic Disc Edema with Macular Star and Neuroretinitis – A Literature Review
Neuroretinitis (NR) is a condition characterized by the fundus appearance of optic disc edema and subsequent formation of a macular star figure. What we commonly referred to as NR is now identified to be a clinical presentation in a variety of disorders ...
