Vesicle containing dendrites in the subthalamic nucleus of the cat.
Journal fur Hirnforschung, 1981During the ultrastructural investigation of the cat's subthalamic nucleus (STN), profiles exhibiting features attributed to dendrites and simultaneously containing synaptic vesicles, were encountered. Most of them take part in synaptic triads, usually as an intermediate component.

Substance P-immunoreactive and serotonin-containing neurones in the ventral brainstem of the cat
Neuroscience Letters, 1983Substance P-like immunoreactive cell bodies have been described in the cat brainstem after local injections of colchicine. Substance P-containing neurons were found in the nucleus raphe pallidus, the nucleus raphe obscurus and at the caudal end of the nucleus raphe magnus.

Detection of Toxoplasma gondii antigen-containing immune complexes in the serum of cats
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1993SUMMARY Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays for the detection of Toxoplasma gondii antigen-containing IgM immune complexes (T gondii-specific IgM-lC) and IgG immune complexes (T gondii-specific IgG-IC) in the serum of cats were developed. Serum from clinically ill, naturally infected cats; healthy, naturally infected cats; and healthy cats ...

Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase-Containing Neurons in the Dorsal Column Nuclei of the Cat
Somatosensory Research, 1984The retrograde transport of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and immunocytochemistry for glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) have been employed to examine whether local circuit neurons (LCNs) exist in the dorsal column nuclei (DCN) and whether these neurons may be GABA-ergic.

Substance P‐containing pyramidal neurons in the cat somatic sensory cortex
Journal of Comparative Neurology, 1992AbstractLight and electron microscopic immunocytochemical methods were used to verify the possibility that neocortical pyramidal neurons in the first somatic sensory cortex of cats contain substance P.At the light microscopic level, substance P‐positive neurons accounted for about 3% of all cortical neurons, and the vast majority were nonpyramidal ...

Effects of propylene glycol-containing diets on acetaminophen-induced methemoglobinemia in cats
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1990Summary Soft-moist cat foods contain 7 to 13% propylene glycol (PG) on a dry-weight basis. These diets induce Heinz body formation in feline RBC. In this study, we evaluated cats on a control diet and on a commercial diet containing 8.3% PG. All cats on the PG diet developed an increase in the number of circulating Heinz bodies.

Effect of a drug containing dienogest on the reproductive function of cats
Veterinariya, Zootekhniya i BiotekhnologiyaRussia, which ranks third in the world in the number of cats, faces the problem of controlling their population and sexual behavior. In this regard, the search for safe and effective methods of animal contraception is important in veterinary medicine.

An Endogenous Inhibitor of Amine Oxidase (Flavine-Containing) in the Carotid Body of the Cat
Hoppe-Seyler´s Zeitschrift für physiologische Chemie, 1977The activity of amine oxidase (flavine-containing) was measured in various organs. No activity could be detected in homogenates of the carotid body of the cat. Mixing experiments with this homogenate and rat liver mitochondria showed the presence of an inhibitor of amine oxidase activity in the carotid body. This inhibitor is inactivated by boiling. No

[Topography of catecholamine-containing neurons of the locus coeruleus in the cat].
Fiziologicheskii zhurnal, 1989Topography of catecholamine-containing (CA) neurons of the cat locus coeruleus was studied using a combination of the catecholamine histofluorescence method and rapid embedding of the brain tissue into the paraffin wax. The distribution of CA neurons was examined at frontal and sagittal sections of the brain stem.
