On generalised catalan numbers
AbstractThe Catalan number Cn is defined to be 2nn(n+1). One of its occurrences is as the number of ways of bracketing a product of n+1 terms taken from a set with binary operation. In this note the corresponding result for a set with a k-ary operation is considered.

Some properties of the Catalan–Qi function related to the Catalan numbers [PDF]
In the paper, the authors find some properties of the Catalan numbers, the Catalan function, and the Catalan-Qi function which is a generalization of the Catalan numbers. Concretely speaking, the authors present a new expression, asymptotic expansions, integral representations, logarithmic convexity, complete monotonicity, minimality, logarithmically ...

The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Two explicit formulas for the generalized Motzkin numbers
In the paper, by the Faà di Bruno formula, the authors establish two explicit formulas for the Motzkin numbers, the generalized Motzkin numbers, and the restricted hexagonal numbers.

Catalan Numbers for the Classroom?
The author describes the experiences with 13-14 years old pupils in a project on Catalan numbers. She asserts that solving simple combinatorial problems plays an important role in developing thought processes, and should be practised throughout secondary school.

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Some structures of the catalan numbers I [PDF]
The Catalan numbers are ubiquitous in counting problems which is one of the primary reasons for its popularity. From various sources like books and Wikipedia we see that in combinatorial mathematics.
