Translation and cultural adaptation of the pectus excavatum evaluation questionnaire to Spanish and Catalan

open access: yesJournal of Patient-Reported Outcomes, 2022
Purpose Pectus excavatum (PE) is the most common congenital chest wall deformity. It can have a negative effect in exercise tolerance. However, cosmetic features are the most frequent concerns in these patients.

SPICE‐Compatible Compact Modeling of Cuprate‐Based Memristors Across a Wide Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A physics‐guided compact model for YBCO memristors is introduced, incorporating carrier trapping, field‐induced detrapping, and a differential balance equation to describe their switching dynamics. The model is compared with experiments and implemented in LTspice, allowing realistic circuit‐level simulations.

Permutations avoiding an increasing number of length-increasing forbidden subsequences [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2000
A permutation π is said to be τ -avoiding if it does not contain any subsequence having all the same pairwise comparisons as τ . This paper concerns the characterization and enumeration of permutations which avoid a set F^j of subsequences increasing ...

Enhancing Atomic‐Resolution in Electron Microscopy: A Deep Learning Denoiser Operating in the Frequency Domain

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The newly developed AI‐automated Fast Fourier Transform denoising algorithm surpasses conventional real‐space methods by revealing even light atoms otherwise hidden in noisy backgrounds. Atomic resolution electron microscopy has become an essential tool for many scientific fields, when direct visualization of atomic arrangements and defects is needed ...

Congruences from $q$-Catalan Identities [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics, 2016
In this paper‎, ‎by studying three $q$-Catalan identities given by Andrews‎, ‎we arrive at a certain number of congruences‎. ‎These congruences are all modulo $Phi_n(q)$‎, ‎the $n$-th cyclotomic polynomial or the related functions and modulo $q$-integers‎

Biallelic Germline Inactivation of HROB Causes Primary Gonadal Insufficiency and is Potentially Associated with Colonic Polyposis Predisposition

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Homologous Recombination Factor With OB‐Fold (HROB) plays a role in homologous recombination and DNA replication, where it enhances the MCM8‐MCM9 helicase complex activity. Recent findings link biallelic germline HROB variants to primary gonadal insufficiency (hypergonadotropic hypogonadism), a phenotype also associated with MCM8/MCM9 ...

Snow Leopard Permutations and Their Even and Odd Threads [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2016
Caffrey, Egge, Michel, Rubin and Ver Steegh recently introduced snow leopard permutations, which are the anti-Baxter permutations that are compatible with the doubly alternating Baxter permutations. Among other things, they showed that these permutations

Leveraging Big Multitemporal Multisource Satellite Data and Artificial Intelligence for the Detection of Complex and Invisible Features: The Case of Extensive Irrigation Mapping

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The detection of buried or obscured archaeological features remains a central challenge in landscape archaeology, particularly in the irrigated floodplains of Mesopotamia where levees and canals formed the basis of complex agrarian systems. This study presents a deep learning–based approach for the large‐scale, automated detection of ancient ...
