A Filtration of (q,t)-Catalan numbers

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2008
We define new generalizations of (q,t)-Catalan numbers applying nabla operator on k-Schur functions indexed by column partitions. In some special cases, we give a combinatorial interpretation of these numbers using configurations of Dyck paths. In some other special cases, we also interpret these new polynomial as Hilbert series of explicit sub-modules

A simple index for assessing cumulative human impacts on mountain lakes

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Mountain lakes are highly sensitive ecosystems and effective sentinels of environmental change, yet the exposure and magnitude of the human footprint remain poorly quantified. In this study, we develop a simple and non‐invasive abiotic index to assess cumulative pressures on mountain lakes. The proposed index integrates eight variables grouped

Frontiers of Bright CEP‐Stable Broadband Infrared Sources

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Bright CEP‐stable broadband infrared sources push the limits of ultrafast science by delivering exceptional brightness alongside few‐cycle durations and multi‐octave spectral coverage. This review highlights emerging architectures and nonlinear conversion strategies that scale power while preserving phase stability.

On the mean value of some new sequences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The main purpose of this paper is using the elementary and analytic methods to study the mean value properties of the Smarandache repetitional sequence, and give two asymptotic formulas for ...

Targeted Muscle Reinnervation for Intuitive Prosthetic Control

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The convergence of medical and technological advances has led to a substantial expansion of therapeutic approaches for patients with limb amputations. Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) is one of the strategies to improve control of bionic arms and has been applied for more than two decades. Through surgical rewiring of the nerves responsible

A GIS‐Based Approach to Modeling Carnivore Activity in the Pleistocene Site of Cova del Rinoceront (Iberian Peninsula)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Osteoarchaeology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A significant methodological difficulty in the interpretation of Pleistocene zooarchaeological assemblages is the identification of taphonomic agents that modify and break bones. Carnivores, in particular, have been a main focus, as competition with carnivores may have affected carcass acquisition opportunities for humans in the past.

Pell Leonardo numbers and their matrix representations

open access: yesJournal of New Results in Science
In this study, we investigate Pell numbers and Leonardo numbers and describe a new third-order number sequence entitled Pell Leonardo numbers. We then construct some identities, including the Binet formula, generating function, exponential generating ...

No way back: decadal lack of functional recovery of a coralligenous community in a warming Mediterranean

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Anthropogenic disturbances are degrading nature at a rate that exceeds its capacity to recover. While considerable research has focused on understanding ecosystem impacts, recovery processes remain comparatively overlooked, particularly in marine ecosystems, where long‐term data on how highly complex systems respond to disturbances are scarce.
