Mock galaxy catalogs using the quick particle mesh method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Sophisticated analysis of modern large-scale structure surveys requires mock catalogs. Mock catalogs are used to optimize survey design, test reduction and analysis pipelines, make theoretical predictions for basic observables and propagate errors ...

Obesity alters the fitness of peritumoral adipose tissue, exacerbating tumor invasiveness in renal cancer through the induction of ADAM12 and CYP1B1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

SQUAB—I: The First Release of Strange QUasar Candidates With ABnormal Astrometric Characteristics From Gaia EDR3 and SDSS

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
Given their extremely large distances and small apparent sizes, quasars are generally considered as objects with near-zero parallax and proper motion.

Dark matter voids in the SDSS galaxy survey

open access: yes, 2015
What do we know about voids in the dark matter distribution given the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and assuming the $\Lambda\mathrm{CDM}$ model? Recent application of the Bayesian inference algorithm BORG to the SDSS Data Release 7 main galaxy sample ...

Catalogs of Hot White Dwarfs in the Milky Way from GALEX's Ultraviolet Sky Surveys. Constraining Stellar Evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present comprehensive catalogs of hot star candidates in the Milky Way, selected from GALEX far-UV (FUV, 1344-1786 AA) and near-UV (NUV, 1771-2831 AA) imaging.

Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.

A radio catalog of Galactic HII regions for applications from decimeter to millimeter wavelengths [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys. 397 (2003) 213-226, 2002
By collecting the information from 24 previously published lists and catalogs, we produce a comprehensive catalog (Master Catalog) of 1442 Galactic HII regions. For each object, we quote the original fluxes and diameters as well as the available information on radio line velocities, line widths and line temperatures and the errors on these quantitities.
