Performance of Stainless-Steel Bipolar Plates (SS-BPPs) in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Water Electrolyser (PEMWE): A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesCompounds
Bipolar Plates (BPPs) play a critical role in Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Water Electrolysers (PEMWEs) for effective hydrogen generation. The performance and longevity of the system can be considerably impacted by choosing the suitable material for ...

Tandem oxidative amidation of benzylic alcohols by copper(II) supported on metformin-graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets as an efficient catalyst

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In this research, an efficient heterogeneous catalyst based on graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (CN) has been reported. The CN was functionalized by 1,3-dibromopropane as a linker (CN–Pr–Br) and subsequently modified with metformin (CN–Pr–Met ...

Gum-Supported Melamine: A Recyclable Reagent for Selective and Metal-Free Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohols

open access: yesChemistry Proceedings, 2021
Here, novel melamine functionalized gum (gum@Melamine@Cu(II)) is synthesized and its catalytic performance is investigated in the oxidation of benzyl alcohols. The gum@Melamine was prepared through the grafting of 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane onto gum,

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Enhancement of adsorption efficiency of crystal violet and chlorpyrifos onto pectin hydrogel@Fe3O4-bentonite as a versatile nanoadsorbent

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The magnetic mesoporous hydrogel-based nanoadsornet was prepared by adding the ex situ prepared Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and bentonite clay into the three-dimentional (3D) cross-linked pectin hydrogel substrate for the adsorption of ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
