Rational Design of Atomically Dispersed Metal Site Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Future renewable energy supply and a cleaner Earth greatly depend on various crucial catalytic reactions for the society. Atomically dispersed metal site electrocatalysts (ADMSEs) have attracted tremendous research interest and are considered as the next‐

Using a dual plasma process to produce cobalt--polypyrrole catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells -- part I: characterisation of the catalytic activity and surface structure

open access: yes, 2012
A new dual plasma coating process to produce platinum-free catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in a fuel cell is introduced. The catalysts thus produced were analysed with various methods.

New aspects of the electrochemical-catalytic (EC’) mechanism in square-wave voltammetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Several new theoretical aspects of the electrocatalytic (regenerative) EC’ mechanism under conditions of square-wave (SWV) and staircase cyclic voltammetry (SCV) are presented.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Structural insights into the catalytic and inhibitory mechanisms of the flavin transferase FmnB in Listeria monocytogenes

open access: yesMedComm, 2022
Listeria monocytogenes, a food‐borne Gram‐positive pathogen, often causes diseases such as gastroenteritis, bacterial sepsis, and meningitis. Newly discovered extracellular electron transfer (EET) from L.

On the Dynamical Ferromagnetic, Quantum Hall, and Relativistic Effects on the Carbon Nanotubes Nucleation and Growth Mechanism

open access: yes, 2007
The mechanism of carbon nanotube (CNT) nucleation and growth has been a mystery for over 15 years. Prior models have attempted the extension of older classical transport mechanisms.

Catalytic resonance theory: the catalytic mechanics of programmable ratchets

open access: yesChemical Science
Catalytic reaction networks of multiple elementary steps operating under dynamic conditions via a programmed input oscillation are difficult to interpret and optimize due to reaction system complexity.

The Catalytic Mechanism of Cdc25A Phosphatase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
Cdc25 phosphatases are dual specificity phosphatases that dephosphorylate and activate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), thereby effecting the progression from one phase of the cell cycle to the next. Despite its central role in the cell cycle, relatively little is known about the catalytic mechanism of Cdc25.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The Role of DNMT Methyltransferases and TET Dioxygenases in the Maintenance of the DNA Methylation Level

open access: yesBiomolecules
This review deals with the functional characteristics and biological roles of enzymes participating in DNA methylation and demethylation as key factors in epigenetic regulation of gene expression. The set of enzymes that carry out such processes in human
