Effects of Ozonation and Catalytic Ozonation on the Removal of Natural Organic Matter from Groundwater

Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2012
AbstractThis paper presents a comparison of the effects of ozonation [0.4–3.0 mg ozone (O3)/mg (DOC)] and titanium dioxide–catalyzed ozonation (TiO2-O3) (0.4–3.0 mg O3/mg DOC; 1.0 mg TiO2/L) at pH 7.46 on the removal of natural organic matter (NOM) from groundwater from the central Banat region (northern Serbia).

Catalytic Ozonation over Nanocarbon Materials

2022
Growing research interest has been attracted to developing state-of-the-art nanocarbon catalysts for catalytic ozonation because of their high activity and environmentally benign nature. Additionally, thanks to the versatility of nanocarbons, the interactions of O3 and organics on their active sites can be investigated in-depth by surface and ...

Kinetic decomposition of ozone and para-chlorobenzoic acid (pCBA) during catalytic ozonation

Water Research, 2004
The decomposition of ozone and para-chlorobezoic acid (pCBA) using ozone and ozone/goethite were investigated under various conditions to define the characteristics of ozonation and catalytic ozonation. A continuous analysis of the kinetics of the reaction between ozone and pCBA was established, and the decay rate of ozone and pCBA with/without ...

Hybrid Ceramic Membrane Catalytic Ozonation

2022
This chapter reviews all applications of (catalytic) ozonation coupled with ceramic membrane without functional surface groups. The combination of ozonation and ceramic membrane shows better potential performance on membrane fouling elimination, which depends on the combination mode, including pre- or in situ ozonation. After that, the ceramic membrane

Room-temperature catalytic decomposition of ozone

Atmospheric Environment (1967), 1972
Abstract Thirty-five materials including charcoal, metals and metal oxides were tested for their room-temperature catalytic efficiency in decomposing ozone. Charcoal and nickelous oxide were found to be the best catalysts. A one-half inch thick filter bed of these materials initially removed 95 and 80 per cent, respectively, of the ozone from a 1 ft3

Catalytic Filtration of Ozone in Airborne Application

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1962
Studies were undertaken to determine a practical method of reducing the ozone content of cabin intake air typical of high-altitude, high-speed aircraft. To make use of the aircraft ram air temperature rise, catalytic filters were investigated for purposes of ozone destruction.

A study on the catalytic ozonation of 1,4-dioxane

Proceedings. The 9th Russian-Korean International Symposium on Science and Technology, 2005. KORUS 2005., 2006
Advanced oxidation involving O/sub 3//catalyst was used to eliminate 1,4-dioxane and to compare the degradability of dioxane-contaminated water with O/sub 3/ only and O/sub 3//H/sub 2/O/sub 2/. Oxidation experiments were carried out in a bubble column reactor under different oxidation sources such as O/sub 3/ only, O/sub 3// H/sub 2/O/sub 2/, and O/sub

Catalytic ozonation of alkylnaphthalenes in acetic acid

Kinetics and Catalysis, 2012
The oxidation of alkylnaphthalenes with ozone in acetic acid in the presence of cobalt(II) acetate is reported. Under the catalytic conditions, the ozonolysis of the aromatic system can be prevented to a considerable extent and the reaction can be directed toward the oxidation of the alkyl group.
