Catalytic dechlorination of diclofenac by biogenic palladium in a microbial electrolysis cell [PDF]
Diclofenac is one of the most commonly detected pharmaceuticals in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) effluents and the receiving water bodies. In this study, biogenic Pd nanoparticles (bio-Pd) were successfully applied in a microbial electrolysis cell ...

A Tracer Diffusion Study of Diverse Photo‐Ionic Phenomena in Strontium Titanate
Two strong interfacial photo‐ionic effects are demonstrated for the model system SrTiO3 through the application of isotope exchange experiments: UV illumination is found to enhance the oxygen surface exchange coefficient by several orders of magnitude and to depress the surface space‐charge potential substantially.

Removal of volatile organic compounds by heterogeneous ozonation on microporous synthetic alumina silicate [PDF]
A hybrid process combining adsorption and ozonation was examined as an alternative treatment for odorous volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) was chosen to study the influence of operating parameters.

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

Heterogeneous catalytic ozonation of diethyl phthalate
ABSTRACTDiethyl phthalate (DEP) is one of the phthalate esters having wide industrial applications, but its occurrence in the aquatic environment has been linked to disruption of the endocrine system. In this study, the removal of DEP with ozone alone (OA) and heterogeneous catalytic ozonation (HCO) with activated carbon (AC) was investigated.
