Cataract Detection Using Convolutional Neural Network with VGG-19 Model
2021 IEEE World AI IoT Congress (AIIoT), 2021Cataract is one of the prevalent causes of visual impairment and blindness worldwide. There is around 50% of overall blindness. Therefore, an early detection and prevention of cataract may reduce the visual impairment and the blindness.

CATARACT EXTRACTION IN THE ‘NINETIES’
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1983A total of 55 cataract extractions were performed on 53 patients aged 90 years or more in the period 1972 to 1982. Assessment of the outcome was based on data from hospital records and on questionnaires to the patient's ophthalmologist and general practitioner. Cataract surgery had improved visual acuity in 42 patients.

Cataract Extraction in Glaucoma
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1979Cyclodialysis lens extraction or cyclodialysis canalicular trabeculectomy lens extraction in one eye and cataract extraction in the fellow eye were performed in 24 glaucoma patients. The combined procedure follow-up was from five to 12 years in the first group, two to four years in the second group, and from three to ten years in the control group. The

Aqualase for cataract extraction [PDF]
To report our experience of using Aqualase technology for cataract extraction. In total, 33 patients (20 females; mean age 71.4 years) underwent cataract surgery using Aqualase through a 3.2-mm corneal incision. Grade of nucleus, nuclear removal technique, and intraoperative complications were noted.

Histology of Cataract Extractions
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1970Collagen deposition in healing stromal wounds under limbus-based flaps was studied in nine human eyes obtained postmortem from 1 to 46 days after senile cataract extraction. Collagen was present under the flap in the five day specimen, but was not seen bridging the stromal wound except in specimens 15 days or longer after surgery.

Results of Cataract Extraction*
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1942The value of a surgical operation must be judged by its results. Cataract extrac tion, unlike an appendectomy, does not cut short a dangerous infection ; nor does it save life, as complete removal of a carcinoma will do. The success or failure of these operations is obvious, and whether or not they are successful may be judged immediately. Not so with
