A socio-ecological risk assessment of the effects of recreational fishing on American Eel (Anguilla rostrata) [PDF]
In the present thesis, I used human dimensions and ecological research techniques to investigate whether recreational fishing poses a threat to American Eel (Anguilla rostrata), an Endangered species in the Canadian province of Ontario and globally (IUCN

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Playing catch and release with single molecules: mechanistic insights into plasmon-controlled nanogaps [PDF]
Single-molecule (SM) detection is essential for investigating processes at the molecular level. Nanogap-based detection approaches have proven to be highly accurate SM capture and detection platforms in the last decade.

Effectiveness of stocking tagged rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri Rich.) into the Baltic Sea [PDF]
From among 40505 tagged rainbow trout, released at the age of 0+, 1 and 2 years into the Baltic Sea, the Vistula River and some Pomeranian rivers, 0.0 to 14.7% of the tags were returned during the first 3-4 months after the release, and 0.1 to 20.9 ...

This proof‐of‐concept study involves high‐throughput teratogenicity screening of compounds using XEn/EpiCs, a 3D stem cell‐based embryo model, within microwells. The term ‘morphotoxicity’ is introduced to complement traditional cytotoxicity assays through automated feature extraction and machine‐learning‐assisted classification of morphologies.

Catch-and-release of Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) in recreational fisheries [PDF]
The role of recreational fisheries in the exploitation pressure on fish resources is increasingly recognized. This has led to the introduction of new harvest regulations for several European marine recreational fisheries. Such regulations have been shown
