The Frequency‐Domain Lattice Boltzmann Method (FreqD‐LBM): A Versatile Tool to Predict the QCM Response Induced by Structured Samples

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
FreqD‐LBM simulates the oscillatory flow at the surface of a QCM‐D resonator in the presence of structured adsorbates. It derives shifts of frequency and bandwidth (equivalent to dissipation) on different overtones. Applications include rough surfaces, adsorbed rigid particles, adsorbed viscoelastic particles, spheres floating freely above the surface,

Controlled catch and release of microwave photon states

open access: yes, 2012
The quantum behavior of superconducting qubits coupled to resonators is very similar to that of atoms in optical cavities [1, 2], in which the resonant cavity confines photons and promotes strong light-matter interactions. The cavity end-mirrors determine the performance of the coupled system, with higher mirror reflectivity yielding better quantum ...

Assessment of Atlantic Red Drum for 1999: Northern and southern regions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
An assessment of the status of the Atlantic stock of red drum is conducted using recreational and commercial data from 1986 through 1998. This assessment updates data and analyses from the 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1995 stock assessments on Atlantic coast ...

Acylsulfonamide safety-catch linker : promise and limitations for solid-phase oligosaccharide synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Safety-catch linkers are useful for solid-phase oligosaccharide synthesis as they are orthogonal to many common protective groups. A new acylsulfonamide safety-catch linker was designed, synthesized and employed during glycosylations using an automated ...

Accurate and Efficient Behavioral Modeling of GaN HEMTs Using An Optimized Light Gradient Boosting Machine

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Machine Learning (ML) and optimization have permeated almost every aspect of engineering applications. Recent years have seen great traction toward ML‐based GaN HEMT modelling. However, ML‐based GaN HEMT models are mostly developed using variants of Artificial Neural Network (ANN).

Improved N transfer by growing catch crops – a challenge

open access: yesJournal für Kulturpflanzen, 2019
Based on the literature amended by some unpublished data and data compilations from the literature, this review identifies the mechanisms of nitrogen (N) losses from arable land and explores the potential of growing catch crops to mitigate N loss risks ...

An Engineered Soluble Single‐Chain TCR Engager for KRAS‐G12V Specific Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a dimeric T cell receptor engager protein specific for tumor KRAS‐G12V mutation. The engager proteins are capable of mediating the formation of synapse between T cell and tumor cell and demonstrate substantial tumor suppression efficacy.

Analyzing Inhibitory Effects of Reagents on Mycoplasma Gliding and Adhesion

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2013
Dozens of Mycoplasma species bind to solid surfaces and glide in the direction of the membrane protrusion at a pole. In gliding, Mycoplasma legs catch, pull and release sialylated oligosaccharides fixed on a solid surface.

Hosts and Commensal Bacteria Synergistically Antagonize Opportunistic Pathogens at the Single‐Cell Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the tripartite‐species model, Drosophila larvae stimulate lactate production through excreting digestion enzymes. S. marcescens population senses a cue of lactate and tends to diverge into virulent and reduced virulence subclusters with remarkable heterogeneity to metabolize carbon metabolism and counter colonization resistance, giving a fitness ...
