A polydopamine (PDA)‐assisted electroless deposition method enables the solution‐based conformal coating of 3D‐printed microstructures with superparamagnetic nickel thin films. This multilayer magnetic coating is implemented and demonstrated in three magnetic microrobot archetypes, including arbitrarily shaped active particles, microrollers, and ...

Functional characterization of the catalytic site of the tetanus toxin light chain using permeabilized adrenal chromaffin cells [PDF]
The molecular events underlying the inhibition of exocytosis by tetanus toxin were investigated in permeabilized adrenal chromaffin cells. We found that replacement of amino acid residues within the putative zinc binding domain of the tetanus toxin light

A novel biomarker renalase and its relationship with its substrates in schizophrenia [PDF]
Background: Schizophrenia, particularly the form related to excessive dopamine (DA), is a chronic psychotic disorder affecting millions of people worldwide. Renalase metabolizes its catecholamine (CA) substrates, including DA, suggesting that there might

Immunohistochemical staining for tyrosine hydroxylase reveals the neurons forming the locus coeruleus complex in the pontine region of the brain of the Congo gray parrot. The appearance and parcellation of the locus coeruleus complex in birds shows many similarities, but also differences to that observed in mammals.

The influence of non-neuronal cells on catecholamine and acetylcholine synthesis and accumulation in cultures of dissociated sympathetic neurons [PDF]
The effects of several non-neuronal cell types on neurotransmitter synthesis in cultures of dissociated sympathetic neurons from the new-born rat were studied.

Abstract Autonomic nerves are crucial in cardiac function and pathology. However, data on the distribution of cholinergic and noradrenergic nerves in normal and pathologic human hearts is lacking. Nonfailing donor hearts were pressure‐perfusion fixed, imaged, and dissected. Left ventricular cardiomyopathy samples were also obtained.

Triggers for atrial fibrillation. the role of anxiety [PDF]
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most widely recognized arrhythmia. Systemic arterial hypertension, diabetes, obesity, heart failure, and valvular heart diseases are major risk factors for the onset and progression of AF.

Aims Amlodipine poisoning is a leading cause of cardiovascular medication‐related deaths, commonly managed with high‐dose insulin (HDI) therapy. However, HDI is a vasodilator that is counterproductive in managing vasoplegia. We aim to study HDI therapy in patients with hypotension following dihydropyridine calcium channel antagonist (CCA) overdose ...

New Insights Into the Pharmacological Potential of Plant Flavonoids in the Catecholamine System
Flavonoids are biologically active polyphenolic compounds widely distributed in plants. Recent research has focused on high dietary intake of flavonoids because of their potential to reduce the risks of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes,
