Carbon dots as a smart nanoplatform for the blood‐brain barrier penetration and ischemic stroke therapy

open access: yesResponsive Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents the structure and transport routes of the blood‐brain barrier, summarizes the ischemic stroke pathophysiological cascade, and discusses the BBB‐crossing mechanisms and multitarget therapeutic effects of carbon dots, demonstrating their promising theranostic potential for ischemic stroke.

Biomimetic and Gel‐Mediated Tissue Adhesive Structures for Skin Conformal and Multifunctional Bioelectronics

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Inspired by octopus suction structures, a biomimetic epidermal electrode is developed as a durable, skin‐conformal platform for next‐generation wearable and therapeutic bioelectronics. The electrodes exhibit skin‐matching mechanical properties and achieve strong, reusable adhesion on wet skin, outperforming commercial electrodes by maintaining adhesion

Seeded‐Growth of ZIF‐8 onto Magnetic Nanoparticles: Smart Nanocarriers with Ultrahigh Drug Loading for AMF‐Triggered Release

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We developed core‐shell iron oxide@ZIF‐8 magnetic‐MOF nanohybrids via a seeded growth method for magnetic hyperthermia‐triggered drug delivery. Cubic cores and thinner shells maximized heating. In‐situ doxorubicin encapsulation achieved 98% loading, better than surface encapsulation. Polymer coating improved stability.

Ultra‐Tough Hybrid Supramolecular Gelatin Hydrogels

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Tannic acid‐mediated coacervation compacts gelatin into a dense supramolecular network while generating an acidic microenvironment that activates pre‐embedded bis‐oxazoline crosslinkers. The resulting hybrid hydrogel combines covalent stabilization with reversible energy dissipation, producing high strength, extreme extensibility, substantial toughness,

Monodisperse Condensed Tannin and Derived Carbon Nanospheres Featuring Well‐Defined Surface‐Structured Metal Species

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Uniform, size‐tunable polyphenol nanospheres are assembled from condensed tannins in water at ambient conditions via controlled supramolecular interactions between tannin and diamines. Their phenolic–amine surfaces template highly dispersed metal species that resist sintering during pyrolysis.
