A construction of semisimple tensor categories [PDF]
Starting from an abelian category A such that every object has only finitely many subobjects we construct a semisimple tensor category T. We show that T interpolates the categories Rep(Aut(p),K) where p runs through certain projective (pro-)objects of A.

On the representation of the category of number in nouns in Estonian and Russian dictionaries
Perceiving the category of number as the subject of grammar only is an oversimplification. Number forms of nouns are very lexicalized, and their dictionary interpretation (especially singularia and pluralia tantum) is sometimes inconsistent. The analysis

Squares receive higher category ratings when the smaller sizes are presented more frequently than the larger sizes. This shift in the rating scale is greater when there are either fewer categories (the Category Effect) or more stimuli. Similar shifts were obtained whether the stimuli were presented successively for judgment or simultaneously.

Reconstruction from Koszul homology and applications to module and derived categories [PDF]
Let R be a commutative noetherian ring. Let M be a finitely generated R-module. In this paper, we reconstruct M from its Koszul homology with respect to a suitable sequence of elements of R by taking direct summands, syzygies and extensions, and count ...

Topological triangulated categories [PDF]
In this paper we explain certain systematic differences between algebraic and topological triangulated categories. A triangulated category is algebraic if it admits a differential graded model, and topological if it admits a model in the form of a stable

The number of response categories in ordered response models
Abstract The choice of the number m of response categories is a crucial issue in categorization of a continuous response. The paper exploits the Proportional Odds Models’ property which allows to generate ordinal responses with a different number of categories from the same underlying variable.
