Emergency Power Sharing by Using a Self‐Traction System in a Mass Rapid Transit Railway
ABSTRACT Systemwide traction power outages in mass rapid transit systems (MRTSs) can cause trains to stop between stations, leading to service disruption and urgent passenger evacuation requirements. Onboard emergency self‐traction systems (ESTSs) can mitigate this risk by enabling a stranded train to reach the nearest station at low speed.

Defect Diagnosis of Rigid Catenary System Based on Pantograph Vibration Performance
The condition of a catenary is significant to ensure a high current collection quality. Owing to the dynamic interaction between the pantograph and the catenary system, the vibration of the pantograph can be used to analyze the condition of the catenary ...

Load identification and fatigue evaluation via wind-induced attitude decoupling of railway catenary
In strong wind area, wind vibration on key railway catenary components may lead to safety hidden danger like fatigue failures. In this work, a load identification approach was proposed by decoupling the wind-induced suspension attitude to acquire the ...

Catenaries in Riemannian surfaces
AbstractThe concept of catenary has been recently extended to the sphere and the hyperbolic plane by the second author (López, arXiv:2208.13694). In this work, we define catenaries on any Riemannian surface. A catenary on a surface is a critical point of the potential functional, where we calculate the potential with the intrinsic distance to a fixed ...

Fatigue analysis of catenary contact wires for high speed trains [PDF]
The fatigue fracture is one of the most critical failures which may occur on the high speed network because it is undetectable and it has a huge impact on traffic disruption.

This article presents an active power filtering control method to suppress ripple power in the DC‐link of railway traction systems, including both the inherent second‐order ripple of single‐phase rectifiers and additional frequency ripples introduced by the pantograph–catenary arc.

Contact Force Surrogate Model and Its Application in Pantograph–Catenary Parameter Optimization
The significant increase in the speed of high-speed trains has made the optimization of pantograph–catenary parameters aimed at improving current collection quality become one of the key issues that urgently need to be addressed.

New empirical rheological model for ceramics suspensions based on a hyperbolic sine formulation
Schematic representation of a new rheological model based on a hyperbolic sine formulation. Abstract Understanding the rheological behavior of ceramic suspensions is crucial for optimizing shaping technologies, including slip casting, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
