Nb-doped PrBa0.8Ca0.2Co2O6-based perovskite cathode with improved oxygen reduction reaction activity and stability for solid oxide fuel cells

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
The performance of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is strongly associated with the activity and durability of the cathode, where the oxygen reduction reaction occurs.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Virtual cathode emission of an annular cold cathode [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics - Accelerators and Beams, 2009
Recent measurement of voltage V and current I of the electron gun of a relativistic klystron amplifier revealed that the resulting current-voltage relationship appeared to differ from the usual Child-Langmuir law (I∝V^{3/2}) especially during the initial period of voltage increase. This paper attempts to explain this deviation by examining the emission

Bulk and Surface Reactivity of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 in Contact with (Acidic) Water

open access: yesAdvanced Energy & Sustainability Research
Lithium‐ion battery cathode materials such as LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) are very sensitive to water, which has so far hindered the successful commercialization of aqueous electrode processing strategies.

Origin of reversible oxygen redox reactions in high energy density layered oxides

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2021
Summary: Oxygen redox reactions (ORRs) are considered a new strategy in reaching a high-energy density for rechargeable batteries. Here, we propose the concept “band coherency” for identifying the origin of reversible ORRs in alkali-excess compounds, i.e.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Penerapan Sampah Buah Tropis untuk Microbial Fuel Cell

open access: yesJurnal Rekayasa Elektrika, 2020
Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) is one tool that uses microbes to produce electrical energy. The main components of MFC support are anodes, cathodes, and salt bridges. In this paper, the application of tropical fruit waste to MFC is presented.
