Charge diffusion in the capacitive readout of resistive cathodes [PDF]
Abstract A quantitative description is given for the charge flow on a resistive cathode. The emphasis is on the implications on pad readout of large calorimeters equipped with plastic streamer tubes. Measurements are presented which give support to the theory, and also reveal details of the internal construction of the streamer tubes.

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...

Charging Up Lithium-Ion Battery Cathodes [PDF]
Lithium-ion battery cathode materials are layered with complexity. In this issue of Joule, Tian and coworkers probe NMC622 (LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2) oxide interfacial and bulk behavior in a comparative study of chemical versus electrochemical (de)lithiated processed samples. Spatially resolved nickel oxidation state mapping reveals flaws in particle charge

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

An Electrical Model for the Cathodically Charged Aluminum Electrode
A mathematical model was formulated for the surface film on aluminum which considered the film to consist of an inner barrier high-field conducting layer and an outer, porous, ohmically conducting layer. It included all relevant capacitive and faradaic processes, and incorporated the nonlinearity of conduction and reaction rate expressions.
