Determination of antimony in seawater by cathodic stripping voltammetry

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1987
Abstract The method proposes to determine subnanomolar levels of antimony in freshwater and seawater by cathodic stripping voltammetry preceded by adsorptive deposition of complexes with catechol. Dc-polarographic and cyclic voltammetric experiments indicated that the complex of catechol with Sb(III) is adsorbed prior to the scan, and is reduced to ...

Adsorptive stripping voltammetry or cathodic stripping voltammetry? Methods of accumulation and determination in stripping voltammetry

Analytical Proceedings including Analytical Communications, 1994
Stripping voltammetric methods involve both accumulation and determination steps, and sometimes intermediate steps. Ideally it would be helpful if nomenclature could be found which gave information on the nature of all of the steps involved. Possible combinations of accumulation and determination methods in stripping voltammetry are considered here.

Determination of thiamine by cathodic stripping voltammetry

The Analyst, 1992
An electrochemical procedure for the determination of thiamine has been developed based on the cathodic electrogeneration of an electroactive product of thiamine (thiol form) on a mercury electrode, followed by cathodic constant potential electrolysis, constant potential oxiadation and linear cathodic voltage-scan voltammetry.

Cathodic stripping voltammetry of 2-mercaptoethanol

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1985
Abstract The behaviour of 2-mercaptoethanol at a hanging mercury drop electrode by cathodic stripping voltammetry (c.s.v.) is studied. The stripping curves are recorded by three scanning modes: rapid-scan direct-current, differential-pulse and fundamental harmonic alternating-current polarography. Under the recommended conditions, pre-electrolysis is

Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry of 2-Thiouracils

Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications, 2005
Four 6-R-2-thiouracils (R = H, methyl, propyl, benzyl) were examined by differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry on mercury electrode. The research led to a very sensitive analytical method that allows their determination on nanomolar level. The detection limit of the 6-propyl derivative is as low as 1.0 × 10-9 mol dm-3.

Quasireversible Maximum in Cathodic Stripping Square-Wave Voltammetry

Electroanalysis, 1999
The apparent reversibility of a redox reaction, together with the position of the quasireversible maximum, depend on the single complex kinetic parameter K, which is defined through the standard rate constant, diffusion coefficient of the ligand and frequency of the SW signal.

Determination of cobalt in blood using cathodic stripping voltammetry

The Analyst, 1995
A method was developed to determine low levels of cobalt in whole blood, serum and plasma. Samples of blood (0.2 ml) were mineralized at 160 degrees C in the presence of concentrated nitric acid. Residual organic matter was destroyed by digestion using ultraviolet irradiation after dilution with water.

Anodic and cathodic stripping voltammetry for metals sensing

2023
This chapter introduces the fundamental ideas of voltammetry, such as adjusting the voltage and measuring the current that results from electrochemical reactions. The procedure known as stripping analysis can be divided into two stages: electrolytic deposition of a part of the metal ions in solution at the working electrode is frequently employed to ...

Redox kinetics in cathodic stripping square‐wave voltammetry

Electroanalysis, 1995
AbstractSeveral redox systems with reactants which are immobilized at the electrode surface (EuSal complex, SeIV and SeIV in the presence of CuII, cysteine and p‐nitrophenol) were studied by square‐wave voltammetry to examine whether their redox kinetics can be measured by using the phenomenon of the ‘quasireversible maximum’.

Determination of Ytterbium Traces by Cathodic Stripping Voltammetry

Electroanalysis, 2003
AbstractThe method of ytterbium(III) trace concentration in the presence of 2‐thenoyltrifluoroacetone (TTA) and polyethyleneglycol (PEG) in ammonium chloride is described. The adsorption was performed at the HMDE at −1.0 V using linear scan voltammetry and square‐wave voltammetry.
