Twenty five varieties of Cattleya walkeriana, including one with an obscure original source and phylogenetically unidentified, C. nobilior, C. loddigesii, and their hybrids, were examined by RAPD analysis in an attempt establish their phylogenetic relationships and to distinguish varieties with different flower colors.
