Numerical Analysis of a Benjamin–Bona–Mahony Type Equation in a Noncylindrical Domain

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 49, Issue 2, Page 818-834, 30 January 2026.
ABSTRACT Numerical analysis and simulation for the approximate solution of a Benjamin–Bona–Mahony type equation defined in a noncylindrical domain are presented in this article. The approximate problem is defined using the linearized Crank–Nicolson Galerkin method, which results in a linear algebraic system at each time step while maintaining quadratic

Rediscovering Hyperelasticity by Deep Symbolic Regression

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 2, 30 January 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate hyperelastic material modeling of elastomers under multi‐axial loading still remains a research challenge. This work employs deep symbolic regression as an interpretable machine learning approach to discover novel strain energy functions directly from experimental results, with a specific focus on the classical Treloar and Kawabata ...

On Multilevel Energy‐Based Fragmentation Methods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 126, Issue 3, January 30, 2026.
We investigate the working equations of energy‐based fragmentation methods and present ML‐SUPANOVA, a Möbius‐inversion‐based multilevel fragmentation scheme that enables adaptive, quasi‐optimal truncations to efficiently approximate Born‐Oppenheimer potentials across hierarchies of electronic‐structure methods and basis sets.

A Helicity‐Based Analysis of the Stratospheric Polar Vortex Evolution

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract The Arctic atmosphere in the winter months of the Northern Hemisphere is influenced by a stratospheric polar vortex, characterized by strong westerly circumpolar winds and extremely low temperatures. These vortices impact surface weather in various ways, and their dynamics may be affected by recent anthropogenic climate change.
