Causal Loop Diagrams

open access: yes, 2022
AbstractThis chapter introduces Causal Loop Diagrams. We explore what exactly Causal Loop Diagrams are, describe how you can use them, take a step back to consider common issues and ‘tricks of the trade’, as well as present a brief history of the development of the method. This chapter can be viewed as a companion to Chap.

Using Causal Loop Diagrams to Conceptualize Groundwater as a Social-Ecological System

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2022
Groundwater systems are social-ecological systems (SES) in which human communities, groundwater dependent ecosystems and groundwater resources are linked, and therefore, cannot be studied in isolation.

Mapping the interactions of critical factors in China’s first-contact healthcare systems using causal loop diagrams [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Public Health
Background Primary healthcare plays a pivotal role in optimizing healthcare resource allocation and ensuring equitable access to services. In China, first-contact care within the tiered medical care system is essential for alleviating pressure on large ...

Geometry and causal flux in multi-loop Feynman diagrams

open access: yesSuplemento de la Revista Mexicana de Física, 2022
In this review, we discuss recent developments concerning efficient calculations of multi-loop multi-leg scattering amplitudes. Inspired by the remarkable properties of the Loop-Tree Duality (LTD), we explain how to reconstruct an integrand level representation of scattering amplitudes which only contains physical singularities.

Demystifying Commercial Influences on Health: Applying Systems Dynamics Methodologies to Policy Processes; Comment on “Using System Dynamics to Understand Transnational Corporate Power in Diet-Related Non-communicable Disease Prevention Policy-Making: A Case Study of South Africa” [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Health Policy and Management
In their study on which we provide commentary, the authors applied a qualitative systems dynamics methodology to explore how transnational corporate power has led to policy inertia in the prevention of diet-related noncommunicable disease (RD-NCD) in ...

Participatory Causal Loop Diagrams Building for Supporting Decision‐Makers Integrating Flood Risk Management in an Urban Regeneration Process [PDF]

open access: yesEarth's Future
Several modeling tools commonly used for supporting flood risk assessment and management are highly effective in representing physical phenomena, but provide a rather limited understanding of the multiple implications that flood risk and flood risk ...

Revealing the value and feedback dynamics of green space co-design through causal loop diagrams

open access: yesnpj Urban Sustainability
Urban green spaces are vital for environmental sustainability and social equity, yet their co-design, a participatory approach to stakeholder collaboration, remains under-evaluated despite its rising global adoption.
