lincRNA6679 promotes FnPR1B expression via phosphorylation‐activated FnWRKY14 to enhance strawberry resistance to Botrytis cinerea

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 6, Page 1898-1918, June 2026.
In strawberry, Botrytis cinerea induces the expression of the long, intergenic non‐coding RNA lincRNA667,which upregulates the transcription factor gene FnWRKY14. FnWRKY14 then binds to the promoter of the pathogenesis‐related gene FnPR1B, enhancing strawberry resistance to B. cinerea.

Losing genes, gaining edits: how relaxed selection and inverted repeat expansion shape RNA editing in Schizaeaceae plastomes

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 5, June 2026.
SUMMARY RNA editing is a post‐transcriptional pyrimidine exchange process that alters plastid and mitochondrial transcripts in nearly all land plants. Although confined to organelles, it is directed by nuclear‐encoded PLS‐type pentatricopeptide repeat (PPR) proteins, each typically recognizing a specific RNA target.

Impact of geometric factors and shear stress on endothelial function: Hemodynamic insights from human cerebral arterial bifurcations

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, June 2026.
Abstract Vascular inflammation is not a random biological event but rather a process that is strictly regulated by physical forces. While biochemical mediators are well characterized, the local physical mechanisms that predispose specific cerebral vascular sites to inflammation, specifically the geometry of arterial bifurcations, remain ...
