Taurine and Metabolic Diseases: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 5, September 2026.
The dietary sources of taurine, as well as its protective effects and mechanisms in metabolism‐related diseases and metabolic disorder–associated ocular and cerebral injuries. ABSTRACT Taurine (Tau) is a sulfur‐containing amino acid prevalent in animal tissues and primarily acquired through dietary sources.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Alleviate Crohn's Disease by Regulating CBS‐Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
MSCs alleviate CD by regulating CBS‐mediated ferroptosis. Bioinformatics analysis identified CBS as a hub gene shared by CD and ferroptosis. In TNBS‐induced colitis mice, MSCs treatment alleviated intestinal inflammation by upregulating CBS expression, increasing GSH and GPX4 levels, and inhibiting ferroptosis.

Peripheral Spread of Squamous Cell Cancer to Cavernous Sinus

open access: yes, 2008
There was no extension of rumor beyond the cavernous sinus; the tentorial enhancement did not reflect involvement by neoplasm. Perineural spread of squamous cell carcinoma of the face is notoriously difficult to diagnose.

Central Nervous System Lymphoma

open access: yes, 1990
This discussion of CNS lymphomas is included in the cavernous sinus section even though this site of involvement is quite uncommon. Other speakers in this session will discuss the anatomy, imaging, and other features of the cavernous sinus.

Evolutionary Signal and Development of the Foramen Dorsum Sellae (Nov.) Across Primates

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 287, Issue 9, September 2026.
The dorsum sellae of the sphenoid bone occasionally exhibits an accessory opening, though its significance is unknown. We scored its presence in humans (N = 114) and 30 non‐human primate genera (N = 1468) and combined histological, dissection‐based, and phylogenetic approaches to understand its function. The foramen occurred in 12% of humans and 33% of

Physiological cerebrospinal fluid interactions between brain and eye structures are altered after long‐duration spaceflight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 9, Page 4209-4222, 1 September 2026.
Abstract Long‐duration spaceflight represents an extreme challenge, triggering adaptive responses including spaceflight‐associated neuro‐ocular syndrome, characterized by diminished visual acuity and ocular changes, which is a significant health risk for Mars missions.
