Hydrodynamic Cavitation‐Induced Thrombolysis on a Clot‐on‐a‐Chip Platform

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2025.
A new clot‐on‐a‐chip platform leverages microfluidic devices to control hydrodynamic cavitation (HC) for targeted blood clot erosion. Reduction on clot mass and diameter and scanning electron microscopy analysis confirm progressive clot erosion with increasing HC intensity.

Retrospective evaluation of computed tomographic‐guided Tru‐Cut biopsies in 16 dogs and 14 cats with nasal cavity mass lesions

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
Abstract Background Approximately 80% of nasal masses in dogs and 91% of nasal masses in cats are reported to be malignant, but the currently reported diagnostic rate of neoplasia is 54% using blind or rhinoscopic biopsy techniques. Hypothesis/Objectives Describe the technique of computed tomography (CT)‐guided Tru‐Cut (Tru‐Cut biopsy needle, Merit ...

Application of High‐Pressure Water Jet Reaming and Permeability Increasing Technology in Outburst Coal Seam Mining

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
High‐pressure water jet reaming and permeability enhancement technology is a widely used technology in the field of coal mining, especially in the mining of low‐permeability soft outburst coal seams. This technology can effectively improve the permeability of coal seams and reduce the safety risk in the mining process.

Cavitation Observations in a Jet-Flow Gate-Valve

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series B, 1984
As a step for clarification of the mechanism of cavitation erosion as well as noises at a jet-flow gate-valve, the cavitation-aspects and the associated sound-pressures were simultaneously observed systematically by means of high-speed-photography and sensitive pressure-detection through a hydrophone, in a 1/10-scale model-valve for various openings ...

A venturi device for stable addition of foaming agent to self‐suction liquid at high flow rates

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2024.
This paper simulates the variation of the suction ratio of a venturi structure with self‐suction liquid to add foaming agent under different suction structure parameters (including diameter, contraction angle, throat length and position) based on high flow conditions.

Instantaneous Behavior of Cavitation Clouds at Impingement of Cavitating Water-Jet

open access: yesProgress in Multiphase Flow Research, 2007
It is known that water-jet with cavitation clouds shows unsteady behavior and causes high impact. It is useful for not only the water jet technology but also various engineering fields. The unsteadiness of cavitation clouds is one of the most interesting problems for the use of the cavitating water-jet.

Similarity Law on Shedding Frequency of Cavitation Cloud Induced by a Cavitating Jet

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2012
In order to clarify the mechanism of cavitation cloud shedding, the shedding frequencies of cavitation clouds were investigated by high-speed observations and image analysis. The results indicate that the shedding frequency follows the similarity law for
