Study on the formation and characteristics of unstable sheet cavitation on hydrofoils
Hydrofoils, as fundamental components of hydraulic machinery, directly influence the performance of such machinery. This study conducted an analysis of the cavitation characteristics of hydrofoils at a + 4° angle of attack under various cavitation ...

Feasibility of Nitrogen as a Carrier Gas for Inconel Cold Spray in Hydropower Application
N2, despite being nearly two orders of magnitude cheaper than He, is a feasible carrier gas for cold spray Inconel coatings in hydropower repair applications when higher gas temperature and pressure are used. Reducing powder size significantly improved cavitation resistance, while the addition of fine chromium carbide particles further enhanced erosion

Analytical investigations of thermodynamic effect on cavitation characteristics of sheet and tip leakage vortex cavitation [PDF]
Vapor production in cavitation extracts the latent heat of evaporation from the surrounding liquid, which decreases the local temperature, and hence the local vapor pressure in the vicinity of cavity.

Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

Mechanoluminescent HOF Nanotransducers Enabled Sono‐Optogenetics in Parkinsonian Rats
We present a mechanoluminescent system utilizing porous hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) as a toolkit for focused ultrasound‐triggered, non‐invasive light delivery to the deep brain in rats. This approach enables the specific activation of PV‐GPe neurons in dopamine‐depleted Parkinson's disease rat models, resulting in a comparable alleviation

The effect of NCG on the characteristics of hydraulic cavitation
Hydraulic cavitation, as an important and complex hydrodynamic phenomenon, has long drawn attention. In this paper, the ZGB (Zwart-Gerber-Belamri) cavitation model is improved and the effect of NCG (noncondensable gas) on cavitation in water is studied by numerical simulation.
