An Experimental Investigation of Cavitating Jet Dynamic Power and Cavitation Intensity
Volume 7: Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer and Thermal Systems, Parts A and B, 2010The principal focus of this investigation were the effect of hydrodynamic and geometrical parameters on cavitating jet dynamic power and cavitation intensity under different flow conditions. Jet performance indicators were taken to be the erosion rate of the target surface and the size of the erosion area..

Cavitation about a jet in crossflow
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2015Cavitation occurrence about a jet in crossflow is investigated experimentally in a variable-pressure water tunnel using still and high-speed photography. The 0.012 m diameter jet is injected on the centreplane of a 0.6 m square test section at jet to freestream velocity ratios ranging from 0.2 to 1.6, corresponding to jet-velocity-based Reynolds ...

Jet Pump Cavitation With Ambient and High Temperature Water
Cavitation characteristics of a jet pump were explored in tests with 80°C and 280°C water. A cavitation coefficient based on suction velocity and net suction head was used to correlate results.

Cavitation in Submerged Water Jet at High Jet Pressure
Volume 2: Fora, 2015Recent industrial applications have unfolded a promising prospect for submerged water jet. Apart from widely acknowledged water jet properties, submerged water jet is characterized by the formation and complex evolution of cavitation bubbles. These bubbles not just alter the flow behavior of submerged water jet but also pose a profound effect upon ...

Simulation for the influence of structure parameters on cavitation jet
2017 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2017Cavitation nozzle is the core component of cavitation generator. It promotes cavitation by its internal special structure, producing bubble and improving the impact force of jet. The structural characteristics directly affect the quality of the cavitation jet. Therefore, the study of internal structure of nozzle is helpful to improve the performance of

Jet-Fuel Cavitation in a Converging-Diverging Nozzle
45th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2007The focus of this research proposal is the experimental characterization of fuel cavitation in flow through a converging-diverging nozzle. Cavitation of fuel presents additional complexities (as compared to that in water) because fuel is a multi-component mixture.

Cavitating Jet Apparatus for Cavitation Erosion Testing
1979A submerged cavitating jet is used to erode a specimen placed in its path. The erosion depends primarily on the jet velocity, the downstream pressure, and the standoff distance of the specimen. An apparatus for erosion testing based on this principle is described. Results are presented showing the effect of these parameters on erosion.

Sheet Cavitation and Cloud Cavitation, Re-Entrant Jet and Three-Dimensionality
1998The unsteady behaviour of a sheet cavity on a hydrofoil under stationary conditions is important with respect to both noise generation and erosion. Observations of two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional cavities are performed. From the observation it is concluded that the formation of a re-entrant jet is of major importance to explain the ...

Visualization of a highly submerged cavitating water jet was done by high-speed camera photography in order to study and understand the jet structure and the behavior of cloud cavitation within time and space. The influencing parameters, such as injection pressure, nozzle diameter and geometry, and nozzle direction (convergent and divergent), were ...
