Localization of Incipient Propeller Cavitation in a Cavitation Tunnel Using Inversion Method
Volume 2, Fora: Cavitation and Multiphase Flow; Fluid Measurements and Instrumentation; Microfluidics; Multiphase Flows: Work in Progress; Fluid-Particle Interactions in Turbulence, 2014An algorithm for the source localization of incipient vortex cavitation is suggested. Model scale experiment is performed in the Samsung cavitation tunnel to analyze the acoustic characteristics of propeller incipient vortex cavitation and desired target frequencies are determined for the localization based on the experiment.

Modeling of developed cavitation flows in water tunnels
Fluid Dynamics, 1987An approximate dependence between cavitation numbers in an unbounded flow and in an experimental section of a water tunnel, at which the equality of the maximum transverse dimensions of the cavities formed behind identical cavitators is ensured, is obtained in the framework of a model of a viscous, weightless, incompressible liquid.

Numerical Model of Cavitating Propeller Inside of a Tunnel
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1999The unsteady cavitating flow of a propeller subject to a nonaxisymmetric inflow inside of a tunnel is addressed. A numerical method is developed which solves for the fully unsteady propeller problem and the tunnel problem separately, with the unsteady effects of one on the other being accounted for in an iterative manner. The propeller influence on the

Size measurement of bubbles in a cavitation tunnel by digital in-line holography
Applied Optics, 2011Digital in-line holography (DIH) with a divergent beam is used to measure size and concentration of cavitation bubbles (6-100 μm) in hydrodynamic facilities. A sampling probe is directly inserted in the cavitation tunnel, and the holograms of the bubbles are recorded through a transparent test section specially designed for DIH measurements.

A Waterjet Test Loop for the Tom Fink Cavitation Tunnel
Waterjet Propulsion 3, 2001The Tom Fink Cavitation Tunnel and waterjet test loop are described. New and developing techniques for improved investigation of viscous and cavitation phenomena in waterjet flows are discussed. Consideration is given to testing at high Reynolds numbers, hull boundary layer simulation and water quality as related to cavitation testing.

Aspects of the measurement of the acoustic transfer function in a cavitation tunnel
Applied Ocean Research, 2019Abstract Model scale experiments represent one of the most effective, and probably the most commonly used, approaches for the study of cavitating propeller noise. Despite this, the acquirement of consistent data of propeller noise from tests in model scale facilities is still a challenging task.

On minimum cavitation number of the ventilated supercavity in water tunnel
Science China Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy, 2013A numerical method consisted of the cavitation number correction and the model coefficient correction algorithms is presented to simulate the supercavity in water tunnel considering blockage and gravity effects based on the Logvinovich model. A model of the minimum cavitation number is also proposed based on the dimensional analysis theory, and the ...
