PECAM-1 (CD 31) mediates transendothelial leukocyte migration in experimental colitis

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 2007
Transendothelial migration of circulating leukocytes into the colonic wall is a key step in the development of the inflammatory infiltrate in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 PECAM-1 (CD31) is expressed in the tight junction area of endothelial cells, where it is supposed to support the transmigration ...

The Adhesion Receptor CD-31 Can Be Primed to Rapidly Adjust the Neutrophil Cytoskeleton

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2002
The adhesion receptor CD-31 is expressed on neutrophils and endothelial cells and participates in transendothelial migration of neutrophils. Although necessary, information on CD-31-induced signaling and its influence on the shape-forming actin network is scarce.

Experimentally Induced Hyperlipidemia and Associated Atherosclerosis in the Aorta and Vascular Expression of CD 31, CD44, Beta-catenin and E Cadherin in Wistar Male Rats

Indian Journal of Animal Research, 2021
Background: Hyperlipidemia is the disorder of lipid metabolism, characterized by elevated serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and very low-density lipoproteins cholesterol (VLDL-C) and decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).

Immunohistochemical Studies on Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor and Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1/CD-31 in Islet Transplantation

Pancreas, 2000
Neovascularization may be necessary for better and longer function of transplanted islets. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is known to be one of the most important factors of angiogenesis. Recently, VEGF was reported to be expressed in islets of normal pancreas.

[Expression and clinical significance of VEGF-C mRNA and CD 31 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma].

Shi yan sheng wu xue bao, 2004
To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) mRNA and CD 31 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and its promotion of lymphatic metastasis. The expression of VEGF-C mRNA was examined in 43 ESCC by in situ hybridization.

CD 31 Quantitative Immunocytochemical Assays in Breast Carcinomas:Correlation With Current Prognostic Factors

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1995
The distribution of PECAM-1/CD31 molecule was investigated in 133 breast carcinomas using monoclonal antibody and frozen sections. Anti-CD31 labels endothelial cells and reflects stromal angiogenesis. The CD31 immunoreactivity was evaluated by computer-assisted analysis of digitized microscopic images.

Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Pecam-1 (CD-31) and Icam-3 (CD-50) in Preeclamptic Placenta

2009
Objective: Preeclampsia has been related to abnormalities in cellular adhesion molecule expression. Preeclampsia complicates 3-5% of all pregnancies in the world. Our primary objective was to compare the expression of two intercellular adhesion molecules, platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1/CD-31) and intercellular adhesion molecule-3 (
