Surface Energy and Morphology of Blend Films of Polystyrene and Polybutadiene

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 226, Issue 17, September 5, 2025.
Blends of polystyrene and polybutadiene are highly immiscible and, when cast as films, give rise to many different structures. In this work, different experimental techniques realize the complexity of these films. Given the industrial importance of polystyrene and polybutadiene, understanding morphology is important.

Impact of magnetic fields from tablets, laptops, smartphones, and household/leisure magnets on cardiac implantable electronic devices

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 4, August 2025.
This study on 13 Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) models revealed that surface magnetic fields of tablets, laptops, smartphones, and household magnets exceeded 10 G, potentially triggering magnet response mode. Activation occurred at ≤15 mm for electronic devices and ≤7 mm for household magnets.

Capacity of Complexity-Constrained Noise-Free CDMA

open access: yes, 2005
An interference-limited noise-free CDMA downlink channel operating under a complexity constraint on the receiver is introduced. According to this paradigm, detected bits, obtained by performing hard decisions directly on the channel's matched filter ...

Amplified Sensitivity in SERS Detection of L1CAM With Silver Plasmonic Mesoporous Silica Capsules on an Imprinted Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 14, July 25, 2025.
This study presents core‐shell Au‐Ag NPs and a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)‐based material targeting L1CAM. Thionine is used as a monomer to create the MIP on a carbon screen‐printed electrode. Functionalized Au‐AgNCs with Raman reporter 4‐mercaptobenzoic acid and anti‐L1CAM enable selective detection via surface‐enhanced Raman scattering ...

Blind estimation of spreading sequence of CDMA signals based on Fast-ICA and performance analysis

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2011
The DS-CDMA signals can be divided into two types, the short-code(SC) and the long-code(LC) DS-CDMA signal. The existing methods are only used to estimate spreading sequences of SC-DS-CDMA signals, which cannot work for the LC-DS-CDMA signals.A new blind ...

Implementation of an Improvement Cycle in the Compounding of Antineoplastic Therapy in a University Hospital

open access: yesHealth Care Science, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 103-109, April 2025.
The implementation of the improvement project was considered effective as it triggered improvements in AT compounding. Multifaceted interventions can bring about positive changes in the quality of AT compounding and periodic monitoring is required to maintain the level of quality achieved and to perform new interventions when appropriate.

Performance of Fractionally Spread Multicarrier CDMA in AWGN as Well as Slow and Fast Nakagami-m Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2005
—In multicarrier code-division multiple-access (MCCDMA), the total system bandwidth is divided into a number of subbands, where each subband may use direct-sequence (DS) spreading and each subband signal is transmitted using a subcarrier frequency.

Slow Frequency-Hopping Multicarrier DS-CDMA for Transmission over Nakagami Multipath Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2001
A novel multiple access scheme based on slow frequency hopping multicarrier direct-sequence code division multiple access (SFH/MC DS-CDMA) is proposed and investigated, which can be rendered compatible with the existing second-generation narrowband CDMA ...
