Persistent Inter-Excitonic Quantum Coherence in CdSe Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2014
The creation and manipulation of quantum superpositions is a fundamental goal for the development of materials with novel optoelectronic properties. In this letter, we report persistent (~80 fs lifetime) quantum coherence between the 1S and 1P excitonic ...

Photocatalysis Using CDSE Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In this project, we synthesized water soluble CdSe quantum dots (QDs) that photocatalyzed the reduction of reazurin to resorufin. Absorption spectra of the CdSe QDs in water solution is the same as in the toluene suspended QDs solution. The retention of optoelectric properties implies tht the QDs retain their chemical properties upon water ...

Preparation of Nanocomposites Based on PMMA and CdSe, CdSe/CdS Quantum Dots

open access: yesRussian Physics Journal, 2022
Nanocomposites based on PMMA and CdSe, CdSe/CdS quantum dots were developed. Quantum dots (QD) of CdSe, CdSe/CdS with sizes from 2.0 nm to 4.0 nm were obtained by deposition in various media. The photoluminescence range for the obtained QDs was from 480 to 628 nm.

Spin phenomena in semiconductor quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis discusses development of new semiconductor quantum dot (QD) devices and materials. Optical spectroscopy of single QDs is employed in order to investigate electronic structure and magnetic properties of these materials.

Extracellular biosynthesis of biocompatible CdSe quantum dots. [PDF]

open access: yesIET Nanobiotechnol, 2019
An extracellular biosynthesis method has been developed to prepare cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots (QDs) with strong fluorescence emission by incubating cheap Cd and Se inorganic salts with Escherichia coli ( E.coli ) bacteria.

Spontaneous Spectral Diffusion in CdSe Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2012
Spectral diffusion of the emission line of single colloidal nanocrystals is generally regarded as a random process. Here, we show that each new spectral position has a finite memory of previous spectral positions, as evidenced by persistent anticorrelations in time series of spectral jumps.

Biexciton Blinking in CdSe-Based Quantum Dots

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2023
Experiments on single colloidal quantum dots (QDs) have revealed temporal fluctuations in the emission efficiency of the single-exciton state. These fluctuations, often termed "blinking", are caused by opening/closing of charge-carrier traps and/or charging/discharging of the QD.

FIR Absorption in CdSe Quantum Dot Ensembles [PDF]

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), 2001
Absorption of far-infrared (FIR) radiation in very small CdSe crystallites (quantum dots, QDs) via excitation of confined dipolar vibrational modes was studied, both theoretically and experimentally. Spatial quantisation of optical phonons was analysed in the framework of a continuum model, which couples the phonon amplitude to the electrostatic ...

Synthesis and characterization of water-dispersed CdSe/CdS core-shell quantum dots prepared via layer-by-layer method capped with carboxylic-functionalized poly(vinyl alcohol) [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2014
The main goal of this work was to synthesize CdSe/CdS (core-shell) nanoparticles stabilized by polymer ligand using entirely aqueous colloidal chemistry at room temperature.
