Spin phenomena in semiconductor quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis discusses development of new semiconductor quantum dot (QD) devices and materials. Optical spectroscopy of single QDs is employed in order to investigate electronic structure and magnetic properties of these materials.

Voltammetry as a Tool for Characterization of CdTe Quantum Dots [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2013
Electrochemical detection of quantum dots (QDs) has already been used in numerous applications. However, QDs have not been well characterized using voltammetry, with respect to their characterization and quantification. Therefore, the main aim was to characterize CdTe QDs using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry.

Quantum dot enabled thermal imaging of optofluidic devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Quantum dot thermal imaging has been used to analyse the chromatic dependence of laser-induced thermal effects inside optofluidic devices with monolithically integrated near-infrared waveguides. We demonstrate how microchannel optical local heating plays

Photostable epoxy polymerized carbon quantum dots luminescent thin films and the performance study

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2016
High photostable epoxy polymerized carbon quantum dots (C-dots) luminescent thin films were prepared and their performances were compared with the CdTe quantum dots (QDs). First, water soluble C-dots (λem = 543.60 nm) were synthesized.

Zinc incorporation into CdTe quantum dots in glass

open access: yesMaterials Chemistry and Physics, 2010
We report zinc incorporation into CdTe nanoparticles grown by two-step solid phase precipitation in commercial borosilicate glass quenched from the melt, based on a co-evaluation of the results of resonant Raman and optical absorption measurements. Resonant Raman spectra display a two-peak structure at wave-number positions corresponding to ternary ...

Two-photon absorption in CdTe quantum dots

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
We report measurements of frequency degenerate and nondegenerate two-photon absorption (2PA) spectra of CdTe quantum dots, QDs, in glass matrices and compare them with 2PA in bulk CdTe. We find that the 2PA is strongly dependent on the size of the QDs becoming smaller with decreasing size, even when normalizing to the volume of the dots.
