A low‐protein (LP) diet maintained growth performance while enhancing colonic microbiota composition and nitrogen utilization in Ningxiang finishing pigs. These findings enhance our understanding of protein nutrition in indigenous fat‐type pig breeds and provide a theoretical foundation for optimizing dietary formulations in Ningxiang pigs.

Chemical chaperone TUDCA prevents apoptosis and improves survival during polymicrobial sepsis in mice [PDF]
Sepsis-induced lymphopenia is a major cause of morbidities in intensive care units and in populations with chronic conditions such as renal failure, diabetes, HIV and alcohol abuse.

Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Lesser in vitro anaerobic cecal isoflavone disappearance was associated with greater apparent absorption of daidzein and genistein in Golden Syrian hamsters [PDF]
Our hypothesis in this study was that in vitro disappearance of isoflavones from fecal or cecal contents of Golden Syrian hamsters paralleled the apparent absorption of these compounds, comparable with previous findings from in vitro human fecal ...

Selenomethionine can ameliorate arachidonic acid‐induced colonic injury through synergistic mechanisms, including alleviating inflammatory responses, improving barrier integrity, enhancing antioxidant capacity by upregulating selenoprotein expression, selectively regulating AA metabolism to reduce pro‐inflammatory oxylipins and promote the production ...

Sex-specific effects of microbiome perturbations on cerebral Aβ amyloidosis and microglia phenotypes. [PDF]
We demonstrated that an antibiotic cocktail (ABX)-perturbed gut microbiome is associated with reduced amyloid-β (Aβ) plaque pathology and astrogliosis in the male amyloid precursor protein (APP)SWE /presenilin 1 (PS1)ΔE9 transgenic model of Aβ ...

Pss knockdown in the midgut causes growth retardation in Drosophila similar to that in human LMHD
Abstract Background Phosphatidylserine synthase (PSS), localized in the mitochondrial membrane, synthesizes phosphatidylserine. In humans, mutations in Pss lead to Lenz–Majewski hyperostotic dwarfism, a disorder affecting growth and development. The effects of Pss mutations on the growth of Drosophila melanogaster are not fully known. Hence, this study

ABSTRACT Objective Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a severe psychiatric disorder displaying an altered gut microbiome. Faecal microbiome transplantation (FMT) has emerged as a powerful research tool and potential treatment option in AN due to the microbiome‐gut‐brain axis. Current studies are limited and reveal variable FMT protocols.
