Respiration of cecropia moth (Hyalophora cecropia L.) larvae

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, 1970
Abstract 1. 1. Respiration in cecropia moth larvae is related to larval dry weight according to the equation: log e O 2 /hr = (0·87 + 0·06) log e (dry wt.) + log e 3·22, during development at 27°C and 70% r.h. 2. 2. The slope, 0·87, is significantly different from 1 which is the value predicted by von Bertalanffy's (1957) growth ...

Phytochemical studies indicate that their leaves are rich in phenolic compounds, mainly C‐glycosilated flavonoids. Orientin and isoorientin are reported in both species, while vitexina and isovitexina were reported in C.
