Recombinant Cedar Virus: A Henipavirus Reverse Genetics Platform
Methods in Molecular Biology, 2023The isolation of Cedar virus, a nonpathogenic henipavirus that is closely related to the highly pathogenic Nipah virus and Hendra virus, provides a new platform for henipavirus experimentation and a tool to investigate biological differences among these viruses under less stringent biological containment.

Inhibitory effects of cedar pine needle extract on H9N2 avian influenza virus in vitro and in vivo
Virology, 2022H9N2 avian influenza virus causes significant economic losses to the poultry industry, due to its wide-spread prevalence and propensity to induce secondary and mixed infections. Antigenic drift limits vaccine efficacy. New anti-viral therapies are needed to complement existing control measures.

Eastern Equine Eneephalomyelitis Virus in Relation to the Avian Community of a Coastal Cedar Swamp
Journal of Medical Entomology, 1994Eastern equine encephalomyelitis virus (EEEV) is perpetuated in eastern North America in a mosquito-wild bird maintenance cycle that involves Culiseta melanura (Coquillett) as the principal enzootic vector and passerine birds as the primary amplifying hosts.

AbstractRespiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection has been hypothesized to be a risk factor for the development of allergy and asthma, but epidemiologic studies in humans still remain inconclusive. The association between RSV infection and allergic diseases may be dependent on atopic background and previous history of RSV infection.

Arerugi = [Allergy], 2004
To establish immortalized human B-cells secreting antibodies to cedar pollen allergens, peripheral blood lymphocytes from 13 donors were transformed with Epstein-Barr virus. Of 5000 micro culture wells with transformed cell growth, supernatants from 88 wells were found to contain antibodies to pollen allergens.
