An eco‐evolutionary optimality model explains the acclimated temperature response of photosynthesis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 2884-2899, June 2026.
Summary The optimal temperature of photosynthesis (Topt) generally increases with plant growth temperature. Changes in Topt are associated with changes in the maximum carboxylation capacity at 25°C (Vcmax25) and the maximum electron transport rate at 25°C (Jmax25). The ratio between Jmax25 and Vcmax25 declines with warming.

Primeiro relato de mancha foliar em Cedrela odorata causada por Pseudobeltrania cedrelae [PDF]

open access: yesFitopatologia Brasileira, 2005

Cedrela fissilis Vell. Inner Bark: LC–MS/MS‐Based Chemical Profiling and Toxicological Effects

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Investigating the mechanistic toxicity of plant extracts is essential for safety assessment. The predictive toxicological effects of Cedrela fissilis were evaluated, and LC–MS/MS‐based chemical profiling was performed. The hydroethanolic extract (HeECf) and ethyl acetate (EA) fraction were assessed in multimodel systems with different levels ...

Canopy Definitions Shape Canopy Space Filling–Productivity Relationships: Evidence From Terrestrial Laser Scanning

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
The spatial arrangement of trees and their branches within the canopy is crucial for light interception, often resulting in a positive relationship between canopy space filling and stand productivity. To date, there is no universal definition of canopy space.

Development of species distribution models helps identify source country anomalies in timber supply chains

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract For many timber species, a lack of consistent, comprehensive global distribution data makes validating supply source (country of harvest) difficult. To supplement these data, we developed species distribution models (SDMs) for the American mahogany species (genus Swietenia) to demonstrate how SDMs can assist in the analysis of supply sources ...

Insecticidal Activity of Trichilia hirta L. (Sapindales: Meliaceae) Extracts Against Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Larvae and the Identification of Bioactive Compounds

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 3, March 2026.
Fruits of Trichilia hirta were extracted and fractionated according to solvent polarity. The resulting partitions were screened for insecticidal activity by evaluating larval mortality and weight after 7 and 14 days. LC‐MS analysis of the most active fraction enabled the annotation of secondary metabolites potentially associated with the observed ...
