Performance of PEN‐FAST and CEPH‐FAST for Cephalosporin Allergy Delabeling

open access: yesClinical and Translational Allergy, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Evaluation of PEN‐FAST and CEPH‐FAST in 100 patients with cephalosporin allergy labels showed that PEN‐FAST reliably identified low‐risk patients suitable for direct drug challenge, while CEPH‐FAST demonstrated reduced diagnostic performance. ABSTRACT Background Unverified antibiotic allergy labels lead to suboptimal antimicrobial prescribing and ...

Oral third-generation cephalosporins in the treatment of community-acquired urinary tract infections [PDF]

open access: yesКлиническая микробиология и антимикробная химиотерапия, 2019
Cephalosporins are one of the most commonly used antimicrobials for the treatment of variety of bacterial infections. Prudent use of the third-generation cephalosporins is important for the control of spread of cephalosporin-resistant Gram-negative ...

Utility of micellar liquid chromatography as an analytical tool for the estimation of three binary antibiotic mixtures. Application to biological fluids

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2020
A reliable and sensitive micelle based liquid chromatography (MLC) was developed aiming to simultaneously estimate three binary antibiotic mixtures namely: cefixime (CFX) in combination with either linezolid (LNZ) (mixture Ι) or levofloxacin hemihydrate (

Carbapenem‐Resistant Gram‐Negative Bacilli in Mauritania: A Major Public Health Threat

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
Carbapenem‐resistant Gram‐negative bacilli remain uncommon (4.42%) in Mauritania but are dominated by Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli. Preserved activity of colistin, tigecycline, and amikacin highlights a narrowing therapeutic window and the urgent need for sustained surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship.

Guidelines for Essential Trauma Care: Second Edition (2026)

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 1409-1450, June 2026.
Injury is a major cause of death and disability globally, with the highest burden in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Strengthening the organization and planning for trauma care (care of the injured) can improve care and lower mortality. In 2004, the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC) and the World Health ...

Exploring the Antimicrobial Efficacy of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Secretome Against Klebsiella pneumoniae in Urinary Tract Infections

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has become a global health crisis, with Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) emerging as a major driver of AMR and a leading cause of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)‐derived secretomes have gained attention for their antimicrobial properties.
