This study develops itaconate‐based polymer microparticles (IA‐MPs) for macrophage‐targeted intracellular delivery, overcoming the limitations of traditional itaconate administration. IA‐MPs achieve controlled release through phagocytosis, reducing pro‐inflammatory cytokine expression and reprogramming macrophage metabolism toward glycolysis.

Beta‐glucans have gained significant attention as an immunomodulatory biomaterial with cell‐targeting capabilities. This review comprehensively outlines the design and fabrication methods for producing beta‐glucan particles at both the micro and nanoscale and their applications in immune cell targeting, immunomodulation, and drug delivery ...

Enhanced contact flexibility from nanoparticles in capillary suspensions [PDF]
Hypothesis: Sample-spanning particle networks are used to induce structure and a yield stress, necessary for 3D printing of porous ceramics and paints. In capillary suspensions, a small quantity of immiscible secondary fluid is incorporated into a suspension. By further adding nanoparticles with a range of hydrophobicities, the structure of the bridges

Optomechanical non-contact measurement of microparticle compressibility in liquids [PDF]
High-throughput label-free measurements of the optical and mechanical properties of single microparticles play an important role in biological research, drug development, and related large population assays. Mechanical detection techniques that rely on the density contrast of a particle with respect to its environment are blind to neutrally bouyant ...

Microparticle alpha-2-macroglobulin enhances pro-resolving responses and promotes survival in sepsis [PDF]
Incorporation of locally produced signaling molecules into cell-derived vesicles may serve as an endogenous mediator delivery system. We recently reported that levels alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2MG)-containing microparticles are elevated in plasma from ...

Metal–Organic Framework‐Based Antimicrobial Touch Surfaces to Prevent Cross‐Contamination
A MOF‐based antimicrobial door handle cover is developed. It completely inhibits the cross‐contamination of Gram‐positive bacterial species (Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis), Gram‐negative bacterial species (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii), and fungi (Candida albicans). Abstract Infection diseases

Experimental optical trapping of microparticles with an Airy beams array using a Holographic Optical Tweezer [PDF]
In this work, we present the experimental optical trap of microparticles with an Airy beams array using a holographic optical tweezers. The Airy beams array are attractive for optical manipulation of particles owing to their non--diffracting and autofocusing properties.

Dual antibiotherapy of tuberculosis mediated by inhalable locust bean gum microparticles [PDF]
Despite the existence of effective oral therapy, tuberculosis remains a deadly pathology, namely because of bacterial resistance and incompliance with treatments.
